After I got over the excitement of the thought that I was no longer on land (or water), I grew very sleepy. I hadn’t gotten any sleep at all last night, because I had stayed up watching Charlie and Alex’s videos. I looked at Charlie, who was listening to his iPod, staring off into space. Suddenly he turned to me and smiled. “I forgot about my Vidcon diary!” he said.

“You’re making one this year?” Alex asked, sitting up.

“Yeah! Let me get my camera,” he said, fumbling through his carry-on bag.

I turned around in my seat to face Alex, who sat behind us next to and sleeping elderly man. “What’s a Vidcon diary?” I asked Alex curiously.

“Like, you take a camera and film things that happen to you. But during Vidcon, of course,” he explained. I nodded and turned around to see Charlie pointing his camera directly at me.

I gasped. “That camera is so SEXY,” I cried.

“I’m recording,” he grinned.

“Well then,” I said, embarrassed.

He smiled. “Just kidding. You like camera’s?”

“Yes, and I’m good with them too. Just, you know, can’t afford a nice one. Can I see?” I asked.

He handed it to me. I inspected it, then nodded approvingly. “Very nice,” I smiled.

“Can you film?” he asked, turning his body to face me.

“It would be an honor,” I said holding it up and positioning it nicely. “Okay, one, two, three, action!” I giggled.

“Hello! Guess where I am?”

“Can I guess?” I asked. He opened his eyes wide at me and I giggled.

“That was my new friend, Aimee,” he explained. “She’s loves the sound of her voice.”

“I would make an awesome YouTuber,” I nodded.

“You would! Anyway, I’m on-“

“A plane!” I interrupted. He looked at me again. “You never said I couldn’t answer the question,” I protested.

“Fine, if you’re so sure of yourself, you make the video,” he grinned.

“Gladly,” I said, handing him the camera. He turned it on me and I smiled. “Hello things,” I said.

“Things?” Alex asked, peeking over the seat and waving to the camera.

“Who said that the people who watch Charlie’s video’s possessions don’t watch them too?” I asked.

“You’re such a freak,” Alex laughed and sunk back into his seat.

I turned back to the camera and put on my best announcers voice. “And this is Charlie’s Vidcon Video Diary Extravaganza Once-In-A-Lifetime Super Duper Everybody-Loves-It Show!” I said, raising my arms up into the air.

“Well done,” Charlie nodded. I turned the camera back onto him. “Um, enjoy?” he said. Then I turned the camera off and handed it to him. He put it away and the three of us glanced at each other before bursting into laughter, waking the old man next to Alex.

Now I was much more tired. Charlie ha settled back into his seat and I glanced at his shoulder. “Um, Charlie?” I asked.

“Yeah?” he said, moving only his eyes to look at me.
