 Jenna

I had everything ready for the movie marathon tonight- dill-pickle flavoured popcorn, two bags of Lays Salt 'n Vinegar and a bag of nacho Doritos, a bowl heaped with sour-gummy worms, another one of sour candy keys and sour gummy worms, and a package of cherry licorice. This was all sprawled on the table in the family room, which was presently empty. The Brooks brothers, Daniel, James, and Violet would be here in about ten minutes.

Violet. Her name bubbled in my stomach, and I groaned. She most likely hated me. I had called her a bitch, implied that she was selfishly wounded and needy. I didn't deserve Violet Montgomery as my friend, nevermind best.

I couldn't ponder the issue of Violet any longer, on account that there was a familiar rap on my door. I hurried to the door, swinging it open. Luke stood before me, wearing a charming smile, dark jeans, and a navy-blue sweater. I could see the hem of his white t-shirt peeking out from underneath.

He looked effing hot.

"Hi Jenna."

"Hey."

I look nervously at the floor, suddenly interested in the marks of footprints imprinted on it. "Where are the others?" My voice came out as a squeak.

"They're coming," Luke answers. "Beau's just bringing out a couple cases of Coke from the fridge." He scratches the back of his neck awkwardly- I've noticed that this is a common habit shared between him and Jai.

"Listen, Jenna..can we talk?"

I stare up at him, frowning. "What is there to talk about?"

"Well, I just..I need to tell you something."

"Then say it," I reply boldly.

Luke bites his lip. He shuffles his feet. And then, in a rush of action, he closes the door behind him and pulls me tightly to his chest, encircling his arms around me, and leaning back against the door. His eyes trace over my face, and there is a look of longing in his eyes. Wordlessly, he brushes back a lock of my hair and kisses me.

The kiss is long, passionate, and everything that I ever dreamed of. All I can think about is Luke's mouth is on mine, sweet and beautiful, sending shivers down my spine. My hands move over his hair, scrunching it, running my fingers through the strands. Luke lets out a sexy grunt, and I suppress a smile.

I could stay trapped here in this moment forever, and I'd love every waking second of it.

Luke and I's little piece of perfect is ruined when the door jumps open with a bang. Luke stumbles forward, bringing me with him. Like a gentleman, he catches me before he falls.

"Thanks," I breathe.

"Anytime." He winks.

I strain my head past look to see if anyone is witnessing this. Beau, however, has his back turned to us, and is moving in backward in the doorway. I doubt that he saw any of what just happened.

Beau turns back around to us, two huge cases of Coke in his arms. "Hiya beautiful," Beau greets me. I give him a wave.

"Daniel and James should be here in about a minute, and Jai's walking Violet over here," Beau infroms me. I notice that a wide smile stretches acrss his face when he says Violet's name. My heart swells in gratitude for Jai. Violet needs all the love from him that she can get.

"Sounds awesome," I say. Nerves start jittering in my stomach when I remember that I will have a confrontation with Violet.

"Where can I put these?' Beau asks, gesturing to the Coke cans in his arms.
