5 months later...
"What do you think?" I asked Daniel while looking in the mirror at the store.
"You look beautiful" Daniel said looking away from his phone.
"You always say that." I said rolling my eyes at him.
He stood up and held me by my waist while looking into the mirror.
"What else can I say? You look perfect." He kissed my cheek.
I turned around and kissed him on the lips.
"I'm taking this off." I said touching the fabric of the skirt. I went back into the dressing room and changed out of it. When I came back out. Diggy was texting again.
"I'm going to play basketball with the boys." He said as he typed furiously into his phone.
I frowned as he looked back up.
"I'm taking you to lunch first though." He said trying to make it sound better but it felt worse.
I still had a frown upon my face. I placed everything on the hangers and brought them to the cashier. She rung up the stuff on the counter and Daniel paid for it. He carried the bag out the store while holding my hand.
"Thank you." I said while looking down at the floor.
"Your welcome. You want to come with me to the park?" He asked.
"Sure." I said.
Diggy and I have that type of relationship where we can't be anywhere without each other for too long. We're not glued to each other but we're not distant either. We give each other lots of space especially when hanging out with friends but its days like this where I don't want to leave his side. I held his hand a little tighter as we walked to the car. He opened my door and waited for me to get in. He closed it and started dialing on his phone before getting the car. He held the phone to his ear as he started to talk.
"You think you could bring Tasha?" I heard Diggy asked.
I looked out the window as he continued to talk.
"Alright then." He said hanging up.
We pulled up to a red light and he caressed my cheek causing me to let out a small smile.
"You know you can't be sad when you're with me." He said as he made a left turn.
"I'm not sad." I said facing him.
"I don't believe you at all. You only get quiet when you don't want me to leave. It's okay though because I don't want to leave you either." He smiled and placed his hand in my lap.
I stayed quiet because I knew it was only true. He knew me inside and out. We pulled up the restaurant and Valet took the car. We walked hand in hand to the table reserved for us. He pulled out my chair like a gentlemen. I kissed his cheek as he adjusted my seat once I sat down. He sat on the opposite side of me and our hands interlocked once again while we looked through a menu. The waiter came and we ordered our food. I wasn't really hungry.
"Beautiful why so quiet?" He asked.
"I don't know; just thinking." I said.
"About who?" He asked curiously.
"You." I finally smiled wide.
He kissed me on the cheek. He is the best thing in the world. I'm so happy I have him.
