Staying By Your Side (Based off the One Shot) A Diggy Simmons Love Story

Chapter 3

My friend Tasha and I sat on top of the tables as we watched our boys ball. Tasha has been my friend since I came to Cambridge High. She keeps it real not to mention could cook up a storm if you let her in your kitchen. She goes out with Christian Diggy's best friend. I can't stand his guts. He's a jerk and a bad influence. I have no idea how Tasha is dating that boy but she make it work. I think he has some kind of soft spot for her because he is just UGGHHH! 
"Babe past me some water." Christian walked up to us. 
I watched as he took the water bottle out her hands and drank some of the refreshing water. When he finished he looked at me with an evil grin. He poured some water into his hand and threw it on me. 
"Why would you do that Christian?!" I hollered loud enough for Diggy to stop shooting hoops. 
I smelled his lie coming as he twisted the cap back onto the water bottle. 
"Well, you look like a fish and don't fish need water? You smell like one too or maybe it's just-." I jumped up and started socking him hard. 
You could here the thumps of my fist on his back as I threw punches. Diggy jogged over to me and pulled me off from behind. Christian laughed and placed his arm around Tasha who then smacked him in the back of the head.
"Gosh Christian why you always have to do something to Laurie?" Tasha got upset. 
"I was just messing with her." Christian smiled. 
I rolled my eyes and faced Diggy who was still holding my waist. 
"Daniel I'm going to go home okay." I let Christian rude tactics ruin my mood. 
"No come over to my house instead." He suggested. 
"Fine." I took off my T-shirt that was wet with water. 
I watched Diggy put his stuff back in his gym bag and walk towards the car. 
"Tasha I see you later. Call me alright?" 
"Yeah I'll call you. I'm sorry about Christian girl. You know how he is." She rolled her eyes. 
"I know." I hugged her and walked towards Dig. He held my door open so I could get in. I got in and he closed the door. He came around and got in the car. I looked at him and smiled. 
"You know our Anniversary is soon right?" I reminded him as he drove away from the park. 
"Yeah I didn't forget. I got some things planned." He winked at me and I giggled. 
"Can you give me some clues love?" I flirted. 
"Umm sure the clue is that it's our Anniversary." Diggy grinned.
"You suck Dan." I laughed. 
I let my fingers run through his hair. My fingers gently massaged his scalp as I ran through his curls. When we reached a red light he closed his eyes and tilted his head. I pulled my hand back. 
"I don't want you falling asleep at the wheel boy." I looked forward at the now green light. 
"I wasn't falling asleep I just rested my eyes for a moment." He wiped his left eye. 
"One of the oldest lies in the book." I said. I looked at the time my phone read. 
It was 4pm and the sun was still rising high in the sky. I put down the mirror/sun visor to block my eyes from the blinding light that shined my way. The rest of the ride Diggy and I remained quiet; stuck in our own thoughts.
Diggy P.O.V.
I parked the car and Lauren got out. I put my arm around her waist as we entered my house. My parents weren't home today or tomorrow so I was going to be alone for quite some time until my siblings come home from my uncle house. I guided her upstairs to my room where she sat on the bed and took off her shoes. My parents actually like Lauren so they treat her sort of like family. 
"Lauren I got a surprise for you." I smiled. 
"Anniversary gifts already?" She got excited. 
"No Anniversary gifts." I went towards the closet. 
I heard her sigh and I shook my head. I reached in the back of my closet and pulled out this big photo frame. Lauren got up from the bed and came closer to me. I leaned it against the wall and she smiled as she looked at our photos. 
"You did this?" She looked up at me with a sparkle in her eye.
"Yes just for you." I wrapped my arms around her.
"I love it." I kissed her on the neck and she grinned. She pulled out of my grip and kissed me on the lips. I don't even have to buy her diamonds to get a kiss like the way she kissed me. It's the little things that count. 

Lauren P.O.V.
I was cuddled in Daniel's arms asleep when my phone rang. What I saw on my caller I.D startled me to death. I answered the phone nervously. 
"Lauren Michelle are you out of your mind right now?! It is 10:00pm and your curfew ended an hour ago. Might I ask you what you are doing?" My mother barked through the phone. 
I gently lifted Daniel's arm and sat up. I let my hair out of it's ponytail before I spoke because this was going to be a tough situation to get out of. 
"Mom I fell asleep at Daniel's. Otherwise I would have been home." I said in low voice trying not to wake Daniel. It only made her angrier to find out I was asleep at his house. I heard a loud sigh. 
"You come home this instant! I am not through with you." She hung up the phone in my face. I let out a deep breath and placed my feet on the floor. I put on my shoes and ran my fingers through my hair. I leaned over Daniel and kissed his forehead. He moved a little bit and I placed a pillow where my body was. He put his arm back over it and gripped it. I walked out his bedroom and slowly closed the door. I heard the TV downstairs looked off the banister. JoJo sat in the living room with his crew eating some pizza. I came down the stairs. They all looked up at me and smiled. 
"What up Laurie?" JoJo said with a mouth full of pizza.
"I'm good what about you and the crew?" I looked towards the TV. Nothing on but sports the typical boy thing. 
"We good; we good." He looked back towards the TV. 
I walked out the door in the night air. It was a little chilly out as I rushed home to my angry parents. I opened the door and there they were standing in front of me. I closed the door and went into the kitchen. My mom rushed behind me. 
"Why don't you follow directions?" She started. She took a plate out the microwave and placed it in front me. 
"I do mother I just fell asleep that's all."I watched her grab a fork out the drawer. 
"Well sweetheart you can't just go around falling asleep at people's house." She handed the fork to me and I scooped up some garlic mash potatoes.
"I was really tired. Daniel took me shopping and we went out to lunch and then the park, It's very tiring to do that back to back." I stuffed the mash potatoes in my mouth. 
"That Daniel kid...why you always have to spend so much time with him. Can you come home often you know your cousin Stacey is coming in tomorrow. She would love to see you." My mom poured me a glass of lemonade and placed it in front of me.
"I am home often you guys are the ones who aren't home. Stacey is coming? I hate Stacey! She is a brat. Why is she even coming? I wanted to live in New York for a reason; to get away from her." I harshly put my fork in my plate. 
"That's your cousin Lauren and you don't hate her you love her. Besides you have to deal with her because she's moving out here actually. I shouldn't have said coming. You spend so much time with that Daniel I'm just worried that you won't have enough time for Stacey." She started to wipe down the counters. 
"So what I spend time with Daniel? He treats me right plus he lives down the street. But I don't always spend my time with Daniel. I hang out with Tasha and Nicki too. On special occasions I might hang with Sofia but she is so busy right now. I don't even want to be around Stacey mom you don't even know what she does when you're not around." I looked at my phone as it vibrated. Daniel must have wakened up. That pillow crap doesn't work like it used to.
"You better not answer that." My mom got angry again. 
"I won't." I let my phone vibrate but I still had the urge to pick up the phone. 
"Anyway you have to accept Stacey for who she is regardless. I have heard about the things she's done in the past but I don't know maybe New York is better for her; a new start. Finish your dinner and get a good night rest because we are meeting them at the station tomorrow." She left the kitchen.
No wonder why I didn't get in trouble because that chick is the trouble. I know Stacey and the only "new start" she will be getting is on ways to steal somebody man. But she better believe she's not about to get mine.
