“He got her pregnant!” My mom started to get furious.

“Daniel, get down here now!” Mrs. Simmons yelled.

Diggy came down the stairs and looked at me. I could tell he was scared.

“What’s this about you getting Lauren pregnant?” Mrs. Simmons looked at him.

“I…” He stumbled on his words and Mrs. Simmons slapped him in the back of the head.

“Yeah I did.” He looked down.

“Oh so you going around getting girls pregnant?” She socked him in the chest.

“What I want to know is what you do to get her to have sex with you? You rape her? Molest her? What did you do?” My mom let go of my shirt.

“I seduced her.”  He said almost about to cry.

She looked at me and hit me again. I started crying again.

“Since you was women enough to have sex; you’re woman enough to care of it. I want you out of my house. You have two weeks to get out and I mean every bit of it Lauren.”

I buried my hands in my face. I wasn’t expecting her to do that. Yeah I knew I was probably going to get hit but I never thought she’d kicked me out.

“That goes for you too Daniel.” Mrs. Simmons started to tear up.

“What? You’re kicking me out too?!” Anger rose in his voice. “Fine! I’ll take Lauren and my child and we’ll go somewhere else!” He stormed upstairs.

My mom took me home. When we got back inside I went upstairs and closed my door. I called Diggy.

“Hello.” He picked up.

“Babe.” I cried.

“Lauren everything is going to be fine.” He said calmly.

“How can you be so sure?” I sniffled.

“Because I know it. We just have to be committed to each  other. We have to help each other out and I know it’s going to be difficult but I promise it’s going to work.”

“Diggy you know when your dad finds out he’s going to take your car away. How are we supposed to get to school or even get around? What about money and where are we going to stay? It’s not going to be alright.” My tone of voice started to change.

“Look don’t worry about that. I got it. Just start packing your stuff into boxes. You probably won’t be able to take everything with you but take the important stuff and we’ll forget out what to do with the rest. Get some sleep. I’ll see you in the A.M.” We hung up.

I changed out of my clothes and into my pajamas. As I got ready for bed my sadness started to turn into anger. Stacey caused this. She shouldn’t have been going through my stuff. My mom was too busy yelling at me. She should have yelled at her too. But I got something for Stacey.

~~~A few days later
Diggy and I started searching for apartments and just our luck we found one. It was in Brooklyn. Diggy and I drove down there to check it out before signing the papers. It looked like this: http://imganuncios.mitula.net/apartment_for_rent_in_brooklyn_new_york_ref_596983_96936982048662169.jpg I looked around us. We were in the ghetto. People were hanging outside. Kids were all in the street just hoping to get hit by a car. The manager opened the front door and showed us the unit. It was small and it smelled old. It was clean though.
“This is our downstairs unit. The upstairs unit is not rented at the moment. It needs some repairs so it will be off market for a bit. But this a one bedroom apartment. It’s small but it’ll keep you out the cold. You have your own stoop and privacy gate.”
