The Phoenix's Mate

Chapter 2

Aaron's POV

The morning sun shine through my ice covered window as I slowly start to wake up to the sun shine, I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to take a shower and get ready for the day like any normal morning but today seems different because Blaze, my wolf, is a bit antsy for some reason and not in a bad way and it's really weird because he's never like this before.

I did ask him what's wrong but he doesn't know either so I just shrugged it off and went to the kitchen to get breakfast. As I walked into the kitchen I noticed that Derek, my Beta, and Kilo, my Delta also known as Gamma; are talking about some kind of rumor again as they eat their breakfast.

"What kind of rumor is it this time?" I asked with a tired tone as I fixed myself some breakfast and sat with them and take a sip of my coffee that I grabbed with my breakfast and the coffee was already made.

"We were talking about the Silent Angel, because we heard that he saved the Alpha's mate and pup from the roughs in the Whiterose pack." Derek explained.

Derek has bright red hair and he's almost always mistaken as a Phoenix from the elders that have seen what a Phoenix looks like or clamed to because they're all stories and no truth; but his family came from Ireland and it's common to have red hair there. They have the same color hair as anyone else in the world that's not dyed to a different color but otherwise red is a natural color there. His hair also made his light brown eyes pop out and he has tan skin, the kind of tan that you know someone's been outside a lot.

Now Kilo on the other hand has blond hair that almost look white, we like to call him Elsa just to drive him crazy when we're bored or just having a good laugh. He also has light forest green eyes and dark tan skin.

They're both well built and they're both my closest friends which is also why I chose them as my Beta and Delta. As for myself, I have jet black hair and light grey eyes with tan skin and also well built as well.

"I wonder who's the Silent Angel and are they even a male?" I asked more to myself then to my friends, they just shrugged and we all finished our breakfast before going out to see how the training is going and to go out on patrol.

"Aaron!" I turned around when I see my head warrior coming over to me with her mate. That's right I said her because everyone is equal here and there are Omegas but we don't treat them like slaves instead we treat them like family. They help us with the pups and we protect or help them when needed because everyone would go after the omegas first because they're 'weak' but in reality they're our backup if things go badly wrong.

"Hey Amber, hey Jack. How can I help you?" I asked with a smile on my face but in reality I'm jealous that Amber has a mate but I'll find mine soon, I don't know how soon but I'll find her where ever she is.

"Well I would like to retire for now." Amber said with a big smile, her hazel eyes sparkled with some kind of excitement and she also moved a stran of dirty blond hair out of the way like she was shy, which is really rare for her.

"May I ask why?" I asked in pure confusion as Amber and her mate just smiled and I watched Jack pulled her closer. "We're going to have pups!" Amber finished excitedly which I congratulated her and her mate and said yes to Amber about having a retirement until she is fit to come back when she wants to or she can stay and be a mother with her pups as long as she let's me know.

The day went by quickly which I didn't noticed until I looked up at the sky and see the sun starting to go down. I was on my way back to the pack house until one of my warriors mind linked me.

Alpha, a rough just entered our territory and she smells female and I also smell a pup on her

I stopped at the sound of that and I'm so confused, what is a female rough doing passing our territory lines and why does she have a pup with her? Did she take it from it's original family? I quickly shook my head a little and quickly reply.

Don't touch the female since she has a pup and which side of the territory? I asked through the mind link and quickly shift into my jet black wolf with red paws, tail tip and ear tip.

On the South side of the territory.

I quickly ran that way and I told Derek and Kilo about what's going on and for them to watch over the pack just incase it's a trap. But as I got closer my wolf start to get even more antsy and excited, and I was going to ask him what's wrong with him again until I caught the scent of fire and s'mores. The fire scent smells more like a bonfire than a normal forest fire. But once I smelled that mouth watering cent, Blaze started to jump around and yelled out "MATE!" Over and over again.

As I ran to where the warriors are, I also noticed that the cent of my mate is in the same direction from how strong the scent is so the rough must be my mate.

Once I got there, I saw my mate in a white cloak with her hood over her head and mask over her face and she's carrying something in her arms. I was about to say something to my warriors but Blaze quickly took over and yelled. "MATE!"

I watched our mate freeze for a second before quickly turning around and faced us and I managed to see her bright blue eyes that are filled with happiness and sadness? I was about to say something but a loud growl came from behind my mate and behind the warriors that circled her and what I saw made me angry.
