The Phoenix's Mate

Chapter 4

Flair's POV

We soon walked up to a giant mansion that looks like it could fit the whole pack in it just for one meeting if something important happens but I knw that it was just the first mansion that was ever built for unmated wolves but the Alphas and Lunas live here with their families for generations ever since the first Alpha and Luna made this pack and the reason why I know that is because my grandfather used to tell me stories about this pack and how he helped the pack survive long enough to stand on their own paws.

I'm still holding Aaron's hand when we walked inside and the patrol that was with us, all left and probably to tell the whole pack that they finally have a Luna for who knows how ling since Aaron took over as Alpha.

Once inside the mansion, I took off my hood and mask letting my fiery red hair down but it's now in a messy long braid and my bright blue eyes look around the room in awe and I let Aaron lead me to the kitchen. The kitchen is like you see on TV where it's between old fashion but yet new; the kitchen drawers are a cream color with fake gold handles but it's so shiny that it looks gold, the floor is a dark oak wood and there is a fridge and dishwasher but both are silver.

I sat down at the island in the middle of the big kitchen that has grey granit stone that went well with the whole kitchen. I kept looking around in awe when I heard two different pairs of footsteps so I covered Jade up and looked at the entrance of the kitchen to see two males; one has bright red hair with light brown eyes and I immediately felt a connection, it's not like a mate connection but more like a family one, like how I used to feel when my tribe was all together or when we know another Phoenix from the same tribe is near.

The red hair male looked so confused but I just smiled gently and looked at the second male with light blond hair and green eyes; but one thing for sure they both gave off some kind of power so my guess that one of them is the Beta and Delta. "We just heard that you finally found you're mate! Congrats!" the blond male said happily as he came over to give Aaron a bro hung which is just weird to me, then the red hair male pats his back and I just smiled at them knowing that they must be close friends.

"Thanks guys. Flair these are my friends, the red head guy is Derek the Beta and Kilo the Delta and they're in charge of the pack when I'm gone, guys this is my mate Flair." Aaron said introducing us with a smile. Kilo came over to me and was about to say something when he sniffed the air and looked at me confused for a second before looking at the little bundle that's still in the makeshift strap.

"Hey Flair? What do you got there?" Kilo asked curious and even Derek came over as well. I backed up just a little bit in the chair that I'm sitting I=on, in fear of what they're going to say about Jade, but then I felt Aaron came and gently put his hand on one of my shoulders and I looked up at my mate's light grey eyes so I knew that these two males won't think anything bad about me without Aaron having a good talking to them.

I sighed and looked back at the two males in front of me still curious, so I gently removed the little fabric that's covering jade's face and gently take her out of the makeshift strap and showed her off which feels weird to me since I've never done this before but at the same time I like showing off my little girl. The males looked at Jade with awe in their eyes as she looked back up at them with her big blue eyes filled with curiosity but she then started to make little babbling noises and giggles a little bit as well.

After a few 'awes', Derek was the first to snap out of his little trance of cuteness. "Wait, Aaron, you just found your mate so why does she have a baby? Was she forced to have it?!" Derek growled a little bit and Kilo did the same after he snapped out of it as well and growled as well at the thought of their Luna was forced to have a child with another male that isn't my mate. I smiled sadly at them. "No it wasn't by force, it was actually planed before my first mate died..." I answered sadly and smiled just a little more when Jade started to try and eat her hand but my smile is still sad though.

All the males in the room looked at me sadly and the Beta and Delta didn't say anymore but they did offer to help anyway they can which I'm happy about but I doubt they can take care of a baby especially a Phoenix but it'll be funny to watch though.

Which I was talking with Derek and Kilo, I didn't noticed that Aaron went back to making food for me and when he finished he put it on the plate in front of me and have a bottle ready for Jade but of course I had to help him with that because I didn't want the milk to get too hot for her. I gently showed Aaron how to feed Jade before quickly eating the food that's made for me.

It's been 6 years since I had home cooking and especially if it was made by my mate. "So Flair, what happened to your pack? Since we know that your first mate died, if you don't mind me asking." Aaron asked and the other two males was also curious about it as well. When I finished eating, I took Jade back from Aaron and gently burped her by patting her back gently then I start to try and get her to take a nap because baby Phoenixs needs lots of rests so when they're 18 years old (8 years old in human years) they'll get their first fire magic so they can protect themselves when their family or tribe aren't around and they're in danger.

I sighed sadly a little bit at the memory but decided to tell them the story. "It happened 6 months ago; we were just a small little pack since we were just trying to settle down and start a new pack for wolves that wanted to start over again and it was going so well for us and the pack started 8 years ago. One night the hunters somehow found us and attacked us using silver bluets and knives, I wanted to stay and fight but I was pregnant at the time and was about to give birth any day back then so I couldn't really risk it and my first mate was very protective so he quickly took me away to a safe place away from all the ciaos..." I took in a deep breath as my eyes started to water at the memory of that night. "W-We were almost to the forest when a hunter came out of no where and tried to kill me but my mate took the built but he some how managed to stand up and killed the hunter b-but after he did that he started to fall but I caught him and I tried to take him with me but he was already at deaths door... H-He made me leave him behind even though we were so close to a neighboring pack. So after we said our final goodbyes I quickly left before the hunters found out that I escaped..... I stayed in a cave that I found for the rest of the night and waited there for any of my pack members that might of survived the attack for 2 days. When no one came or even give out a sign that there is someone out there still alive but nothing, so I left and never looked back..." I finished and started to break down into tears while holding the now sleeping Jade close to my arms.

I felt someone hold me close and by the scent, I knew it was my mate so I leaned in closer to him and cried into his chest, even though the story is a half but it's so close to the truth that it hit an old wound that's now open again. I kept crying into Aaron's chest while holding Jade close to me and somewhere in the tears and Aaron trying to calm me down. One of the boys gently took Jade away from me and I fell asleep into my mate's arms with a tear stained face.
