Chapter 12: Comes to the Light

''Hey, Genesis.'' I tapped her on the shoulder. We were walking home from the mall.  It was her idea.  I just let Left drive my car back to my house.

"Yeah?  " She put her phone in her bag. She must have been looking for a call or text from Tyler again. I hate to see this happen.

"Waiting on Tyler?  "

"Uh Huh. I'm worried."

"Don't."

"And Why not?  "

"She probably taking good care of him."

"She?  She who?  His mom?" She stopped in front of Tyler's front door and unlocked the door. I followed her in.

I took a deep breath. This was going to be the hardest thing that Ive ever had to do in my life. I sat her down on the couch.

"Tyler doesn't really care about you." I was finally able to get out. She looked at me confused then she started to laugh.

"You of all people should know that he just puts on a front when he raps." She smiled.

"No. Genesis." I swallowed hard. "I'm serious."

"What?"

"Tyler lost a bet we made a week before the performance in Tennessee. He had to date the last fan that he met in V.I.P that night. He had to do it for two weeks but he took it too far. He actually got a girlfriend,  this spoiled white bitch named Danielle.  That's Why He's been leaving you. It ain't to be with Clancy or something it's to be with Danielle."

"Well, w-what if he actually does like me? " She started tearing up. I know I hurt her feelings bad but she deserved to know the truth. She deserved better. 

"Naw. He don't give black girls the time of day. I swear That's Why we looked at you like that. We were shocked that he even brought you back here."

"..." She covered her face with her hands answer cried. I didn't know What to do. I wrapped my arms around her and let her cry into my chest. She gave in because I felt her wrap her arms around my waist.

What the fuck did she just say?  I gotta be tripping.  Ain't now way she just said what I think she said. There's no fucking way.

"What?  "

"I said, I should move in with you." She was licking the spoon and smiling.

"No."

"What?  Why?" She did that annoying ass baby squeal that she does when she tries to get her way. She does that shit a lot with her dad.

"Because..." Nigga you betta have a good ass reason. You can't tell her about Genesis.

"I'm waiting."

"Because my mom stays with me."

"Oh Yeah?  " She raised knew of her eye brows. "Why haven't I met her either ?"

"She's sick." Fuck man, she's pissing me off. I should go home to Genesis. She probably waiting on me. Shit, knowing her, She making some Brownies or watching TV waiting on me. That's who I need in my life. A girl like Genesis not Danielle's needy ass.  That's what Imma hafta do. Tell Genesis the truth.  I stood up and took my keys out of my pocket.

"Bring your ass on.I'm taking you home."
