I sat there on my bed, looking at what I had thought to be a badge from that wooden box Ozpin showed us. It was in a way a badge, but also a pendant doubling as a locket. The emblem engraved upon its surface was one I had never seen before now.

Letting it rest I looked at the slip of paper now instead. It had a series of words to be spoken in old English when one read them out-loud. An oath. Translated it basically reads:

  "I.I
Look upon the world with new eyes and know that you see for the first time.

I.II
All of your time before now—every choice, every moment—was the antithesis of all you were meant to be.

I.III
To dwell on what was is the greatest sin.

I.IV
A new you hides, trapped and desperate to be freed in the instant beyond now.

I.V
Step confidently—forward into the unknown, beyond the present. There you will find yourself waiting.

I.VI
Evolution is constant for those who embrace tomorrow.

I.VII
Once unmade, you will be new, your eyes free to meet the lies of existence with unfettered judgment.

"Only through new eyes can the burden of failed existence be cast aside that we may see—truly see—for the first time." [AN: I do not own this!!!!!]

"Hunt the hunters..." I said looking over it all again. I remember the conversation, however staggering it was, that took place a few hours ago as well.

//Flashback\\

"Bullshit." I say as Ozpin finishes his story. I catch the glare from Professor Goodwitch off to the side. "You expect me to believe that that was all true? The Four Maidens, you being an ancient magician, and gods being real?" I ask him. Verde was just sitting there shellshocked at the story Ozpin had just presented to us, but wasn't as vocal as I was.

"I know it seems all too far fetched to believe, but I assure you I am not lying in anyway." Ozpin says to me with a neutral expression. "And if you allow me to I can prove it. But that must come at a later date. For what I propose to you is...a far darker thing then that." He said. I go quiet and he takes it as a symbol to continue. "Many, many, years ago, before the profession was called Hunter and event before possibly your great grandparents were thought of, a boy who would take such a mantel was born. He would grow into a man that slew any forces of dark and evil to threaten his people; he became a hero." He stopped to take a breath and drink of coffee. The other professors seemed to grow a sad look as Ozpin started this tale. "Many stories have been made and told over the years of him. His birth name was lost and I refuse to speak out out of respect for what he had been, and fear for what he had become would corrupt that. His name was Dredgen Yor." I recognized this name. This story. It was a favorite of mine.
