I tossed and turned all night, what have I done. Before coming here my life was simple, I didn't have any friends let alone ex boyfriends, ahh.

Breakfast rolled around and I slugged down to the kitchen.
"Wow, no sleep last night ah?" asked Joe.
I just glared at Brooks and he wore a smug smile.
Joe laughed.
I ate breakfast and headed out side to the stable and saddled up Denny so I could work more on him.

After I warmed up and worked a bit more on the mechanical cow I let half a dozen steers into the camp. Brooks came over and sat on the fence and watched me.
I had been going for about half an hour when I looked over Brooks. Denny chased the steer one way and I wasn't ready for it and over I went. I had barley touched the ground when Brooks strong arms pulled me out of the camp.
I turn around and punched him on the arm.
"What was that for?" he yelped rubbing him arm.
"What do you want from me? hey why are you watching me? following me? what do you wa-," I was cut of again much like like last night.
But I kissed back, I liked it. He was my first kiss and every time it just gets better.
He broke the kiss, "I want you, I no I stuffed up last time, I didn't no what to do, I liked you to much you made me nervous, will you please be my girlfriend."
I looked around and saw Denny stepping on his reins freaking out. I looked at Brooks with sorry eyes, "can I get back to you," I said running over to Denny to fix him up. I jumped back on and pushed all the cattle out. I turned around to go back to Brooks but he was gone.
Dam, why is this happening to me?

I kept going till Dustin showed up. Great just to add to my problems.
I cantered over to his Holden.
"Hey, what can I do for ya?" I asked
"Hello to you too," he said slamming the door shut.
"Sorry, stressful day," I said wiping the sweat from by brow.
"All good, you got anything planed for tonight since it New Years eve?"
"No I haven't... wait did you say New Year's Eve?" I said confused.
He nodded, "Cuz at the park they are having New Years celebration, and I was wondering if you wanted to come."
I new that he just meant me but I really don't want to be out in an awkward position so, "Sure why not, I'll ask everyone if they wanna come too."

"Yeah sure, okay," he said scratching the back of his neck.
More fool for him asking me.
"So what time does it start?" I asked trying to keep the conversation going.
"Oh um... 3 I think," he smiled, "so i'll see you there?"
"Yeah sure, you wanna come and see the progress I've made on Denny?" I asked
"Sure."

"Audrey I am very impressed, you've had him for, what not even a week? and look at where you've got him. Im amazed," praised Dustin, "If you are ever looking for a job in horse training let me know and man, I'll give you one."
I thanked him and he left. I went inside to tell everyone about the New Year's Eve thingy. They all agreed to go and we went off the get ready.
I looked over at the clock on the wall that read 1 o'clock. I had ridden Denny since 6 this morning, so I went back out side and hosed him down and put him out in the paddock. I looked out at the far back corner of the paddock and saw a tree that just screamed to be climbed.

I made my way down to the tree slowly, taking my time. When I made it to the old morton bay fig, I started climbing made it half way before finding a suitable branch for me to sit on. Once I had made myself comfy I let today sink in.
"Shit," I murmured under my breath as I run my hands over my face. Stress! I don't no much about boys but I know that what I'm doing is not right. Stringing them both along, I've red enough books to know this. I honestly never though that this would happen to some one like me. I need to make a choice, I did the only logical thing, call Hayley.

I walked around the park with Hayley and Brooks. My mind set in its way. I had the pare of cut off jeans , ariat cowgirl boot and an my pink stock yard shirt on rolled up to my elbows with my ivomec cap on. I new what I had to do.
We stopped at the local schools food van and got roast lamb roles and a can of drink and we just roamed around looking for Dustin for a good hour or two.

It started to get dark around 7:30 and we had found Dustin a few minuets back and we had just been wondering around, it was nice, we stopped every now and then to look at small trinket stalls e.c.t. Soon I would make my decision clear.
Around 9ish we were all walking down one of the back lanes in the park when Dustin grabbed my hand and held it. I stopped dead, this is when I make me decision.

I shake my hand out of his grip and his face drops and I feel really bad for what Im about to do.
"Dustin look, I'm sorry but I cant let this go on any longer, I choose Brooks. I choose Brooks to be my boyfriend," and Brooks face lights up like a christmas tree, "I'm sorry but you will find some one more your age and she will love you for you, I'm sorry but I can't do that for you," my final word I dropped my head cause I could stand to see the heart break that Dustin's face so clearly shows.

The night went on and Brooks didn't really leave my side, he was like a little puppy, it so cute. Dustin quickly got over my rejection, which I was happy about, and quickly hit it off with Hayley, I new she had a secret thing for him for ages.
Soon the clock was at 11:55 and we all made it over to the back fence where the fire works were. We all stood there in anticipation.

Soon the clock struck twelve and Brooks pulled me in to a kiss and my eyes flickered closed. It was a slow, heal flicking kiss, that you read about in book and see in movies it was magic. I looked over Books shoulder and saw Hayley and Dustin smooching. I let out a giggle.
"Whats so funny?" asked Brooks, his voice a little husky from the kiss.
I just pointed, and he joined in on my giggles.
And I felt it all fall into place.
