Thirty year old Drew Fischer cracked open a can of beer and bumped it against his best friend's can thirty-one year old Brent Cross. The two guys were best friends since the day they had started at Cambridge Construction.

Both were construction workers and got on like two peas in a pod since day one. They had a lot in comon when it came to sport, hobbies and even woman. They both had major crushes on twenty-eight year old Tawney Faunter a waitress that worked at the Dine Inn where they always dropped in for lunch. Tawney was flattered and made her choice by persuing a relationship with Drew.

Of course Brent felt disappointed at the same time was glad that his bestie won the girl.
Don't worry about it Brent it's buds before babe's, Tawney is quite a looker but there's plenty fish in the sea, Brent told himself that day and moved on enjoying his new prospects.

Drew and Brent were now on leave for a week and decided to spend it together at Honeydew Mountains where they would go hunting, hiking and fishing.

Drew's mobile rang and he shrugged, "I told Tawney that I'm on the mountains and the reception is bad here."
Brent chuckled then said, "Dude you to are together for six months and she's hounding you bad, she's hot and all but I'm glad I'm single and free with no mobile to be disturbing me," he then paused and asked, "Why did you bring a phone anyway?"

"Dude firstly what me and Tawney share is love and secondly I carried a mobile in case of an emergency." Drew protested.
"Love? Dude you're so whipped." Brent remarked.
"Well I guess I am so you better get your best-man suit ready." Drew cracked.

Brent rolled his eyes and instead grabbed his gun, "Let's go hunting."
Drew nodded with agreement as he grabbed his gun and back-pack and the two made their way deep into the woods. The two walked some time until they spotted a deer in the distance.

"Drew do you see it?" Brent whispered excitedly.
"Gosh it's perfect." Drew whispered back.
"Let me." Brent said swiftly aiming for the kill.
Brent fired, missed and the deer disappeared.

"Dammit!" Brent muttered.
Drew looked at Brent disappointed, "I will get the next one."
Brent shrugged and the two continued to walk. Drew felt his legs and calves begin to ache and Brent felt his back pain and he was thirsty.
"I think that we should take a break." Brent suggested.

Drew dropped his bag in agreement. As the two cooled off Drew spotted the deer again in the distance. Without consulting Brent he grabbed his gun and aimed. Before Brent could speak he fired and the deer fell to the ground. Drew ran towards the dead animal followed by Brent.

Drew grinned triumphantly as he inspected the kill feeling pride in himself.
Brent watched feeling enveous nevertheless hid his jelousy.
"Well done man." Brent mumbled.

"Thanks man." Drew grinned.
Drew pulled out his phone so he could take a few pictures of the animal.
"What are you going to post it on the news or something?" Brent asked obnoxiously.
Drew looked at Brent alarmed then said, "It's just memories dude."

Brent rolled his eyes, "Show off." He muttered.
"Excuse me?" Drew asked taken a back.
"You're a show off man." Brent replied sarcastically.
"Brent how am I? It's just a few pictures man." Drew protested.
Brent did not reply instead he picked up his gun ready to leave.

Drew could see the jelousy and disapproval all over Brent, "Man are you jelouse?"
Brent looked at Drew displeased, "Of you? Dude don't flatter yourself."
Brent walked and Drew reached out to stop him. Brent immediately jerked Drew's hand off his shoulder as if it were burning hot coals, "Don't touch me man." Brent growled.

Drew looked at Brent stunned, "You're jelouse that's what you are." He shot.
Brent frowned at Drew full of rage and charged at him knocking him over, "Don't you dare say that to me again." He warned.

Drew laughed, "It is true Brent. Since the day Tawney chose me over you, you have become bitter and now this added to it."
"Go to hell." Brent sneered as he pointed his gun at Drew.
Drew looked at Brent appalled, "What are you doing?"

"Something that I should have done a long time ago." Brent said viley.
Drew burst into laughter then got to his feet, "Whatever man."
Brent shrugged then turned to leave.

Drew decided to lunge over to Brent in a playful gesture so that his friend would lighten up. As Drew did Brent turned gun still in his hand with finger on the trigger he pressed it as Drew collapsed on him.

"Drew what are you doing?" Brent asked flabbergasted.
Drew's smile disappeared and was instead filled with pain and shock as he fell to the ground and his stomach covered in blood.
Brent panicked. He slapped and shook Drew but the man remained lifeless.

I have to get out of here fast no one saw me, Brent thought and sped off leaving Drew for dead and his mobile phone on, recording the whole incident.
