Didn't we almost have it all?

Chapter 5: Hello

"Audrey..." A raspy voice said.

Audrey shot up and looked towards Neil's side, "Neil"

He turned his head and opened his eyes, "Aud..."

Audrey took his face into her hands, "Oh my god, Neil?"

Neil gave her a tired smile, "Hey gorgeous"

Audrey laughed as her eyes welled up with tears, "Oh my god baby, you're awake Oh my god you're awake"

Neil took her hand, "how long have I been out?"

Audrey smiled at him, "A week and 2 days"

Neil grabbed her hands, " I'm sorry about our fight"

Audrey smiled and squeezed his hand, "No, I'm sorry for being a bitch and yelling at you, I never meant to hurt you and I really want us to be okay"

Neil's face went white, "Where's my suit jacket from the night of the accident, I need it, there was something in there and I need it"

Audrey smiled and took the box out of her cardigan pocket, "you mean this, I know what's in there by the way"

Neil took the box from her hand, "Thank god, I'm a little thirsty, can you go find me some coffee"

Audrey smiled, "Sure thing"

Audrey grabbed her jacket and walked out, that's when Glassman and Park walked in.

Glassman patted his back, "good to see you awake"

Park smiled, "yeah really, Audrey was a mess and when I say mess I mean... A mess"

Neil gave him a sad smile, "I need your help with something"

Audrey was walking down to Neil's favourite coffee truck outside the hospital when she saw Morgan and Claire running towards the ER doors,

"DR.LIM IS IT TRUE?" Morgan yelled.

"Is what true?"

"Dr.Melendez is awake?"

Audrey smiled and started to sob, nodding, "Yeah he's awake"

The girls sighed and gave Audrey a group hug, "That's amazing news"

Audrey got his coffee and started her way back to his room, the girls following. 

"How was he, did he know who you were?" Claire asked,

"Yes, he knew thank god"

"Did you apologize?" Morgan asked.

Audrey shot her a dirty looked, "Yes, we both did if you had to know"

Once Audrey arrived back into his room she realized he was gone. Panic set in.

"WHERE THE HELL IS DR.MELENDEZ?"

Nurse Vallenuella Walked up to her, "I'd go check his office"

Audrey ran towards the elevator, the girls not far behind. once they got off the elevator, she ran towards his office which was right next door to hers. She opened the door and smiled when she saw him standing in a suit outside on the balcony.

The girls waited for her as she walked outside.  she opened the door and he didn't turn around,

"The view from up here is beautiful"

Audrey moved closer, "Yeah it is, what are you doing out of bed"

Neil turned to her, "we've had some amazing moments on this balcony Audrey"

Audrey smiled, "We really have, and we still will"

Neil took her hand, "I told you I had feelings for you here, I said I love you here, sure we argue, what couple doesn't, When I got in the accident, I was slipping in and out of consciousness and I thought for sure I was a goner, then I heard your voice and then I felt your hand and i knew, I had to fight, and I knew I had to fight hard because leaving you here alone, would kill me. the truth is that I've fallen head over heels for you Audrey Lim, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you"

Audrey had tears in her eyes, "Neil..."

That's when he got down on one knee and opened the box, "Audrey Jane Lim, will you marry me?"

Audrey let out a sob and wrapped her arms around him, he laughed, "Is that a yes my dear?"

"Yes, it is" Audrey cried as he slipped the ring on her finger and kissed him.
