Chapter 2: Breathe, Just Breathe

they slowly got Neil out of the car and into the ambulance, Audrey wasn't allowed to do anything because it's her lover. Audrey just stood there and let the medics do their job, she could feel tears streaming down her face. that's when she saw another car pull over. Claire Browne and Morgan Reznick run over to the tape.

The officer stopped the two, "You Can't come through here"

Claire tried to fight him off, "NO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT'S OUR BOSS IN THAT CAR"

Morgan pulled out her phone, "I'm calling Cheif Lim, She's going to want to know "

Claire grabbed Morgan's arm, "Morgan, she's here"

Morgan took a deep breath in, "Oh god"

Claire turned to the officer, "please let us through"

"I told you already, you can't"

That's when the girls saw Audrey break down into tears, grabbing onto an officer. she was breaking slowly.

Rage filled Morgan, "LISTEN, THAT'S OUR BOSS WHOM ALSO IS THE GIRLFRIEND OF THAT DRIVER AND SHE NEEDS US RIGHT NOW SO I AM GONNA TELL YOU ONE MORE TIME, LET.US.THROUGH.NOW"

the officer shook his head and lifted the tape. The girls weren't long running over to Audrey.

Morgan rubbed her back, "Dr. Lim"

Audrey lifted her head to look at the girls, "what are you guys doing here"

Claire grabbed Audrey into her arms, "We saw the accident and the driver, our flight instinct kicked in and we needed to help him"

A medic started sprinting towards Audrey and the girls, "DR.LIM, HE'S AWAKE, WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW!"

Audrey grabbed Claire's arm, "claire, are you coming with me or are you going to drive my car to the hospital"

"I can't go with you, Morgan can drive my car, I'll drive yours to the hospital "

Audrey nodded as she ran towards the ambulance.

once she got in it Neil was wide awake and freaking out, "Babe, Neil shhh it's alright, you can't move so much, you were in a bad car accident"

He removed his oxygen mask to talk, "Audrey........I....m......sorry"

Audrey's vision was blurred as she played with his hair, "No baby it's not your fault it was a drunk driver"

Neil had a tear going down his cheek, "I..."

That's when the monitors went crazy, Audrey wasn't allowed to touch him.

Audrey couldn't hear anything, her ears were ringing, "Please don't you die on me don't you die on me, we have so much left to do together"

That's when she climbed on top of him and started compressions. the Ambulance came to a halt and the door opened. Audrey turned her head a little to see Shaun Murphy and Alex Park,

Audrey spoke up first, " I can't stop compressions someone has to have their hands on my back to help us out of here, once we get into the hospital, I need someone to find my scrubs in my office and my sneakers because I'm scrubbing in for surgery "

Park was next to ask questions, "Dr. Lim, who the hell is this"

Audrey didn't have to say anything, Park looked inside the ambulance, His eyes widened, "Holy shit, It's DR.Melendez"

Park ran inside as Shaun and the medics helped Audrey and Neil out of the ambulance. all Audrey heard was Dr.Park screaming that he needed all the nurses and Doctors he could because it was Melendez. the girls were next to arrive.

"Dr.Lim you can't be working on him, he's your boyfriend," Morgan said.

Audrey turned her head to Morgan, "Dr. Reznick, I can't let this man die, I love him, he's my life and if I lose him, you're losing me too"

Every Doctor in St. Bonaventure was ready for him. they got him into the trauma room and Shaun helped Audrey off of Neil.

Shaun led Audrey out of the room, "I'm sorry Cheif Lim, you can't be in here"

Audrey was shaking, "I need to be in that OR with him, I can't lose him, Shaun"

That's when Audrey saw a team of Doctors including Andrews, Morgan, Claire and Shaun, running down the hall with Neil, rushing him to surgery
Audrey stands there covered in his blood, "I'm the reason he's bleeding out" she whispered to herself

Dr. Park came out of the room, "Lim, you can't be here, go to your office or something"

Audrey stood, leaning against the glass wall, holding back tears, "Alex"

he turned to her, "yes?"

She took a deep breath, "Please, can you stay here with me"

Alex sat down beside her on the glass wall, "Dr.Lim, we have the best of the best working on him, he'll be just fine"

Audrey put her head on his shoulder, "what do you have on your arm?"

Alex handed her a suit jacket, "I thought you might want this, his Jacket, Just something of him for you to hold while he's in surgery"

Audrey smiled as tears flowed freely down her cheeks, "Thank you"

Audrey stood and put Neil suit jacket, she put her hand the pockets and felt something in one of them, "Park there's something in the pocket"

Audrey pulled out a tiny black velvet box, Audrey couldn't believe it. she took a deep breath in and opened the box and revealed a shiny silver band with a diamond in the middle. Audrey closed the box and put her hand over her mouth.

She looked at Park and shook her head, she burst into tears. that's when Glassman ran over to her and hugged her.

Glassman held Audrey so she wouldn't fall, all they could make out from her sobs was "He was going to ask me to marry him"
