Chapter 4

From today on, I will be attending the ball, in which my brother is probably, most likely, going to be exiled from the country. For the past three days, I've been summing up my situation.

I died. I reincarnated. I'm in a horrible situation.

It's not like I'm the smartest and moreover, what exactly can I do in this situation?! I thought about running in and just fighting the second prince head on, but I'll probably be killed, since I don't have any fighting skills at all. I do have some self defense skills though. They're useless in these kind of moments...

But what do I do?! Maybe I should just bring a sword just in case. Or maybe I should go begging the king for his forgiveness.

As I thought, in these kind of moments I'm useless.

My brother from my previous life was known as 'the neighborhoods gangster'. He was a good person though. He would often help bullied children, pick up stray cats and end up in a lot of fights because of his sense of justice. In times, where he ended up coming home with wounds in his face, I would be there to treat his wounds and we would talk about why he fought. I wasn't happy with his fighting, but I was really proud of my little brother, who helped people, even though he was the one to be covered in wounds.

He was also the one, who taught me how to defend myself, since I would sometimes have night shifts and come home really late.

Anyways, this situation is bad altogether. I'm already at the castle, making my way into the ballroom. Internally, I'm devastated and nervous. I gathered all my brain cells and tried as hard as I could to come up with ideas, but they all seem impossible and stupid. If it comes down to it, I guess I'll just have to go with fighting the second prince and getting myself executed...

No, no, no...it's because I'm stressed out that I'm getting these stupid ideas. I need to stay calm and think properly. My brother is at stake here!

Let's rethink the whole situation.
Both my father and brother weren't informed that I'm attending this ball. No one except my mother and the people at the mansion know. I don't know anything about this otome game and all the events, except for the fact that there is going to be an event here and this event is going to mark the route the heroine will take.

So to sum it up, if the heroine takes the casual route, my brother will be reprimanded for attempting murder.

Wait a minute...when will Kaith attempt murder? I only know that he will be exiled for attempting murder, but there was no such information that he already did it. If I'm right, then this event would make sense, if Kaith does it here and right now.

If Kaith attempts murder at this ball, then surely the prince wouldn't just let it go and would make a huge scene out of it. Moreover, I also know that Kaith tries to stab the second prince, so there would also be a lot of witnesses and the king and my father wouldn't be able to just mark this as an accident.
