- Chapter 2 -

// A few years later ~ Hana's POV \\

"Wake up Hana, it's time for school", I sat up on my bed and stretched my arms. I slowly started opening my eyes trying to adjust to the light.

"Kim Hana are you awake", said my dad as he opened up my bedroom door. I looked at him and smiled and he did the same. As usual I see him I'm his uniform for work. It's been my dream to be like him, which is to be a police officer. What made me want to become this you may ask? Well I want to help out the community and make them safe. I want to stop all the bad people from doing bad things in the world and make the world a better place. Sounds stupid I know but it's true.

"Morning sweet heart", my dad said, still wearing that smile that he always gives to everyone.

"Morning dad", I got out of bed and hugged him. He hugged me back and soon told me to get ready for school. He closed my door and let me get ready for school. I'm 17 years old and I'm a senior in high school. I'm turning 18 in a few months. My dad has always been by my side every since I was a baby. My mom died because of cancer which made my dad devastated but he became stronger and raised me up, being a single dad. I love my dad with all my heart and I never want to lose him. He's done so many things for me and sacrificed everything just so I can live a good life. Thanks to him, he made me the person I am today.

"Hana breakfast is ready", I quickly put on my shoes and ran downstairs. My dad is a REALLY a good cook and makes delicious food. Sometime he even invites his friends (from work) over so they can try his food and let me tell, you they come over quite a low just to eat my dads food. I mean hey they aren't wrong it's so good.

"What did you make today dad?", I asked him whole sitting down in my spot at the table. We came to the tabes with a plate of pancakes, fruit and a drink on the side. I couldn't stop smiling.

"Made your favorite and decided to add your favorite fruits and drink", I quickly thanked him, and began eating. My dads homemade pancakes are the best, that's why they are my favorite. After finishing eating, (with my dad of course), he then dropped me off at school in his police car.

"Ok Hana, I packed you lunch and just in case I gave you some money if you want to buy something in the cafeteria", I nodded as I got our and grabbed my backpack.

"Have a good day at school sweet heart", my dad said giving me a bright smile.

"I will, have a good day at work dad, love you", I said as I started walking off to school.

"Love you too", my dad yelled out loud, making kids at my school look at him. I laughed and waved goodbye to him and then he was off to work. I went inside and went to my locker where I saw my friend waiting for me.

"Hey Hana", said my friends, Mingi and Yeosang. They've been my friends since 4th grade and we are still best friends today. And actually we all want to become police officers in the future.

"Hey Mingi, hey Yeosang", I gave them all big hugs while smiling. We all talked about how our weekends were, what we are planning to do during break, etc. The bell rung meaning we had to get to class. I didn't have 1st or 2nd period with them but my other classes I have with them. Today is going to be a good day.

// A few hours later \\

While I was in my history class, with Yeosang and Mingi, the teacher got a call from the office.

"Kim Hana, grab your things your leaving for today", I got up and looked at Mingi and Yeosang who also seemed confused. Usually I'd tell them if I'm leaving early or if I'm not going to school but I didn't even know I was leaving early.

"You never told us you were leaving early", questioned Yeosang, while Mingi also agreed with him.

"I didn't know either", they seemed 10x confused then before, but I grabbed my stuff and hurried out the door. I waved Mingi and Yeosang bye and then went to the office. I wonder why my dad never said I was leaving early. When I opened the office door, I saw my dads partner, Jinyoung but not my dad. Jinyoung quickly bowed at the people in the office and then grabbed my hand and took me outside to his police car.

"Where is my dad", I asked getting a bit nervous on the situation. Jinyoung didn't answer me which made me even more nervous. We soon arrived at the police station and Jinyoung quickly took me inside to his office.

"Stay here, I'll be back. Your dad is at a crime scene. I'll be right back just stay here ok", I nodded and Jinyoung soon left me and went to the crime scene. I was bored and saw that there was a remote on his desk and grabbed it. I pushed the bottom that said on and soon the tv in his office turned on. It was on the news and decided to leave it on, hoping I could see something about the crime scene my dad is at. I was getting bored so I just looked around Jinyoung's office. I soon saw a file on his desk. I decided to open it and saw a picture of a boy with long black hair and writing under it.

"Choi....San?", I read his name out loud. I kept looking at the file and saw my dads name in it. Turns out it says my dad has been trying to catch him for a long time. Soon I saw that the San guy murdered many people.

"No wonder why my dad has been trying to look for this jerk", I said out loud. I closed the file and sat on the chair. Soon something came up on the news.

"Hello, my name is Park Jimin. Just a few minutes ago police have claimed that a police officer has been shot down during the investigation. Turns out that the police officer was named Kim Junyoung. According to police, he was the first to come to the crime scene after hearing that the 2 murders were caused by Choi San, the most wanted serial killer in South Korea. Kim Junyoung was quickly rushed to the hospital after being found by 2 police officers but soon died at the hospital. Choi San was no where to be found but police are expecting it was Choi San who shot and killed Kim Junyoung. This is News 5, thank you", this can't be happening.

This has to be a joke it just has to. I dropped my phone that was in my hands and soon found myself crying. This is all some type of prank right. My breathing got heavier and my vision got blurry from tears forming in my eyes.

"Dad don't leave me!", I screamed out loud, making the door to Jinyoung's office open. I fell to my knees and cried. I didn't see who the person was but I felt someone hug me.

"Why do you have to leave dad!", I said as the person continued to hug me. I felt a hand go on my head and and hug me tighter.

"Why me......", I continued to cry and cry. I just couldn't believe it. The only family I have left me. He's been with me since day 1. He's taken care of me since my mom died. He's been my hero and my role model. But now he's gone.

"Just let it out", that voice. I know that voice. I backed up and saw Chaeyoung, the female officer who watched me every time my dad and to a crime scene. I quickly hugged her again and cried in her chest. Soon someone was at the door. Chaeyoung looked at the person but she didn't let go of me.

"Hana.....", I looked up and saw Jinyoung who was covered in blood.

"I tried to save him........but it was too late", Jinyoung went to me and hugged me. I didn't even care if I got dirty, I just needed a hug.

"Please just tell me this is a joke. He isn't gone. Please tell me it was someone else, please Jinyoung", he sadly looked down and didn't answer.

"Tell me my dad isn't gone please! He's all I have left! Tell me he is still alive! Tell me that he is ok and this was just all a mistake!", he looked up at me with teary eyes. Tears started falling down his cheeks.

"I'm sorry Hana.....but he's gone", I kept nodding my head no. I don't want to believe it. I don't want to believe that my dad is dead. That he's gone. That he's not here anymore. I just want to wake up from this dream. I want it all to just be a bad dream. I want to wake up in the morning with my dad calling my name to get ready for school. I don't want him to be gone. He's all I have left. I don't want to think that he's not here with me. Why, why me.........

Another chapter updated. Again I am updating on the same day that this was first published/created. Usually I don't do this with other books I have published but I do have an idea of what to write about for this book.
