give in to the moment but not in foreverC H A E Y O U N G
I smiled to myself as I waited in the piano room. I can't believe I am months away from graduating Music School, it had always been my dream. Sitting down on a piano bench, upstage in front of hundreds of people hearing my composition.
The cold keys of the grand piano never felt comforting, but when the tune starts going I can feel my heart tug in joy. I sat down and began to play my mother's favorite Claire De Lune.
"Oh, Chaeyoung."
I turned to see one of my classmates in Music Composition Jaehyun, and instantly my cheeks warmed up. I bowed slightly and smiled up to him, which he returned with the dimpled smile he was known for among the girls around campus.
"Practicing?" He asked.
"Oh- no, I'm waiting for-"
"JAE!" Wendy suddenly entered the room. running down from the audience aisle up to the stage and tugged on Jaehyun's sleeve, "You promised to get me lunch" she pouted then looked at me and smiled.
"Hey Chaeyoung," She greeted me with her annoyingly cheery voice.
"Hi"
I gripped the music sheets lying beside me on the bench and picked up my bag, they continued to talk as if I wasn't in the room. As I was near the exit, I looked back to see that he didn't even notice I was gone. He was too indulged in talking to her. I forcefully pushed the doors out and walked faster than usual, not tearing my eyes off the floor.
Suddenly my body collided with someone else's. Hard. But then the familiar black Vans sneakers opposite of my white Converse made me sigh, of course, he's near. Chanyeol probably followed Wendy but was too chicken shit to run up to her and talk.
"I didn't see you," I said, my voice almost becoming a whisper.
Chanyeol looked behind me when we heard Wendy laughing as she and Jaehyun emerge from the auditorium. He looked back at me with pity and said, "Must've been difficult for you" in a monotone manner.
"Idiot." I scowled at him.
He then grabbed my hand and led me to the old building, where there was a lot of unused classrooms. I sighed and pushed a table up by the window and took a seat, Chanyeol pulled up a chair and sat in front of me. He had a smirk on his face I knew too well.
"What?"
His eyebrows rise, eyes wide as he pretended not to know what I was talking about. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms looking away from him.
"I'm just surprised," He leaned back on the chair with his hands behind his head, "you didn't cry."
"Why should I?" I dared.
"You used to."
I looked down. He was right. I didn't notice until now, but it doesn't mean I'm over Jaehyun. Maybe I was just tired of crying over the fact that he'll never see me as someone deserving of his affection.Three long years of chasing someone that wouldn't even give me the time of day, what a waste but then again I'm really just plain and stupid. How have I not had gotten over him? I closed my eyes, breathe in, breathe out. Suddenly I felt Chanyeol's lips on mine.
