Just a side note I was listening to First Man by Camila Cabello while writing this and ugh that song just does something to me.
~~~My room is an absolute mess. Clothing is strewn all over the floor completely surrounding me, shoes were scattered around, one was even peeking out of the mound of clothes next to where I was sitting- stacked all the way up to my ribs.
I groan loudly and slam my head back against my bed. There was no way I was getting this all packed by the end of today and last night's late-night meal with Draven wasn't helping my energy levels any.
I still don't know how to feel about him, he was so kind and caring during the ball and in the days following me when he took me out on adventures but he lied to me the entire time he knew me. I heave a sigh dropping my head onto the mattress behind me.
"And what has my best friend sighing that hard?"
I gasp and let out a squeal throwing myself into her arms. "Kitty cat! I didn't think I would see you!"
She chuckles hugging me back, "Of course I would come to see you before everyone left, besides you still haven't told me what happened at the ball!"
"Oh, nothing good has happened everything is ruined Cat I don't even know where to start."
Catalina pouts her lips at me and pulls me to sit by the ever-growing piles of clothes, "How about we start with how your room got to look like this hm? Why aren't the maids doing this for you, all of my beautiful clothes will be messed like this."
I shrug playing with a black sparkly top I've never worn before, "What if they forget something? And then I won't have it for who knows how long."
Her arm wraps around my shoulder, "Little queen if you just tell them to pack everything they will you don't need to worry about that. Besides I'm sure this will all be figured out soon and you'll be able to come home before you know it."
Cat pulls me up by my hands and loops her arm through mine, "Come, you haven't even told me what happened at the ball yet!"
We make our way to the main gardens, stopping a maid on the way to ask if someone could pack my things and also bring us tea and snacks out to the fountain. By the time we're walking the maze in the gardens I've explained that nothing good happened at the ball and that I should have stayed in my room that night.
"So you're telling me nothing good happened at all?"
I nod my head affirmatively.
"Really? So whoever told me you spent the night dancing with the gorgeous Don Kingston was lying to me then?"
I feel my cheeks heat at her tone, "No they were not lying. But he turned out to be not so great so I don't know how I feel about him."
We take a seat at one of the garden tables as a maid scurries through the maze with a tray of treats.
"What do you mean he turned out to be not so great?"
I shrug staring at the teacup placed in front of me as it's filled.
"I don't know, he lied and he and Maxy fight all the time and now Maxy acts weird around me. But he was so nice at the ball and even convinced Daddy to let me off the estate-" she gasps at this, "he took me, Gunner and Ranger, out and showed me all these things but then papa told me everyone was leaving and he knew about it and didn't tell me."
I stir my tea focusing on the clanking of my tiny spoon against the blue and white China cup, "I thought he was going to take my first kiss."
"Oh sweetie," Cat sighs grabbing my hand, "do you still want him to?"
