Dumating na ata ang araw ng paghuhukom. My parents called me up last night to inform me that they are finally coming over and the dinner will be held at our house. Muli nila akong tinanong kung nagpakita na ba si "Miguel" sa akin at muli ko rin silang sinagot ng hindi. Miguel hasn't showed up himself yet.

No one came over to claim that he is that Miguel I am supposed to marry. And I am glad. Hindi pa ako handang makilala siya. I'm not even ready yet at the moment pero wala akong choice.

Maagang umalis para mamalengke sina Manang at Pauline para sa gaganaping dinner mamaya dito sa bahay. I prepared my dress as well. I've been here for five days pero ni ang mga magulang ni Miguel, hindi rin naman nagpakita sa akin. Are my parents really sure we are not being scammed here?

After eating breakfast that Manang prepared for me before leaving this morning, I went out with a cup of coffee in my hand. Medyo nasasanay na ako na paggising ko sa umaga, sumisilip ako sa bukid sa likod ng bahay to relax myself. I was relieved that no one was outside this morning. Nitong mga nakaraang araw kasi, palaging nasa labas sina Aga para makipagkwentuhan kina Manang kaya hindi ako lumalabas.

I sat in one of the benches outside and enjoyed my hot coffee. There is something relaxing about this view. I love watching the green farm and the leaves of the trees swaying along the wind. There is something relaxing about the cold breeze of air in the morning and the sound of chickens waking you up. I couldn't briefly explain it but the smell of the air in province is far way different from that of the city. I can't say that I'm starting to like it here but all I am saying is that at some point, mas nakakarelax dito sa Pampanga kaysa sa Manila.

"... awa! Ikit ke pin napun. Lupa nemang ayus."

(Ah, oo! Nakita ko nga siya kahapon. Mukha naman siyang maayos)

"Enaku wari kukutang keka?"

(Hindi ba niya ako tinatanong sa'yo?)

"Ali ke akasabi, tol. Tsaka mamaligwa ku napun. Maranup na ku, eh."

(Hindi ko nakausap, tol. Tsaka nagmamadali ako kahapon. Gutom na ako, eh)

I looked behind me and saw Aga with another man, whose height is same as his. His hair was longer than Aga's and he's evidently darker than him. When Aga saw me sitting there, his aura suddenly changed. Hindi ko rin ma-explain. Hindi mabait, hindi rin galit. Sakto lang.

"Ay, ninu ya ining malagung ini, tol?" his friend looked at me and smiled. I hesitatingly raised my brow and gave him a smile.

(Ay, sino 'tong magandang 'to, tol?)

"Anak neng Sir Albert."

(Anak ni Sir Albert)

The guy was about to say something when Aga dodged his arm, "Tara na."

Aga didn't bother greeting me or even smirking at me like he always does. I mean, hindi ako sanay na hindi kami nagbabatuhan ng attitude whenever we see each other around. This morning, he is surprisingly alright and quiet. I wonder why. Baka he woke up on the wrong side of the bed?

"Good morning," his friend greeted me instead, "Piolo."

"Paulo?" I asked as I didn't hear his name. Same name as my boyfriend?

He shook his head and Aga chuckled, "Hindi. Piolo."

"Ah," I nodded my head, "Sorry. I misheard it. Lea."
