"Rain, rain, go away, come again another day. Little Zoey wants to play. Rain, rain, go away."

I was staring out the window, into the murky sky. Dark, menacing clouds were pouring rain. Luke and I were playing in a nearby park on the swings just half an hour ago. We were taking turns. I pushed him for a while, then it was his turn to push me. And I remember getting mad because I didn't get the chance to be on the swing before the clouds were thick and dark and adjoining into one another to form one large cloud. My mum rushed us back to the house before we could get wet.

Luke and I were six years old, and we both loved the park. It was our favorite place to go to for our whole first grade.

We were roller skating one time, and I accidentally lost balance so I leaned on Luke to stand up straight again, which caused him to completely lose his balance and fall. We ended up spending the evening in the emergency room. He had to wear a cast for the next two months.

I'm glad he didn't hold a grudge, but that's only because I begged my mum to buy him his dream toy, the pack of fifteen mini hot wheels cars. His face lit up and I could've sworn he teared up when he unwrapped the gift. I remember the look his mom gave my mum, and how my mum just shrugged with a smile.

I had finally finished the last final exam that I was dreading; physics. I thought I was going to leave the examination room breathing heavily with tears in my eyes, but shockingly, I felt feeling confident and happy.

Maybe that's because this girl who sat in front of me with thick black hair, whom I have never talked to before, helped me out.

She gave me the answers for the whole first three pages. I know cheating is a horrible thing to do, and she must have had little sleep last night from studying, but so did I, and I am very grateful that she sat in front of me.

After the exam, I was sitting in the administration office, feeling like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders now that I am done with my exams for the next three months! I was sitting waiting for my mum; she called me and told me she can pick me up, instead of walking back home.

But as I sat there, the girl who sat in front of me in the examination room came and sat next to me.

"Hey," She said, taking out her phone. She had lip gloss on, and was wearing black skinny jeans.

"Hi" I sat up straighter, "Thank you so much by the way, you don't understand, you practically saved my life."

She laughed, "That was no problem, I could literally smell the way you were struggling all the way from my seat."

"Hey, do you want to go get some ice cream?" I asked.

I didn't know what I was doing. I don't know how I was acting cool, and not freaking out or being awkward. I don't know if this girl in my grade is a total bitch, or the sweetest girl I've met my whole life. But, for the first time in a while, I didn't feel hapless, so I decided to give it a try.

"Sure, I love ice cream." She smiled.

"Great. I know the perfect place."

Talia was her name. Short for Natalie. Her favorite ice cream flavor was strawberry with chocolate sprinkles. Mine was vanilla with colored sprinkles. She called me crazy for liking vanilla, but that was just a joke. We laughed a lot. She was admirable, and whimsical. We sat in the ice cream place, she was licking her ice cream from her biscuit cone, I was eating mine from my ice cream cup.
