After Chris left I headed back to my room and decided to call Rose and ask her if she wanted to come over and hang out. I picked up my phone to find that I had three missed calls and a text from Emmet. I called Rose first and asked her if she wanted to come over but she said she was extremely busy with some family stuff at the moment.
I called Emmet and he answered on the first ring. Whoa it's almost like he's been sitting around waiting for my call all day.
"Hey Emmet," I said.
"Jasmine how's it going," He said sounding cool. I instantly felt the butterflies in my stomach again.
"Ya know..just lounging around, what's up?" I asked.
"I was reading your story last night," He said.
"Did you like it?" I asked a little too quickly.
"Yeah it's great. I sent it to a friend of mine who's in the editorial bussiness and she said they can get you published if you can just finish it," He said.
I screamed out of joy at the top of my lungs.
I heard Emmet laugh at his end.
"Oh my god Emmet are you freaking serious!" I exclaimed.
"Yup," He said.
I began jumping on my bed now. All my life I've wanted to become a published writer and this guy who I met two days ago makes my lifetime dream a reality.
"Thank you so much Oh em geeeee!!!" I squealed.
I couldn't contain my excitement.
"She's gonna need your email," He informed me.
So I gave Emmet my email. And after a few minutes we found ourselves talking about orange chicken. Emmet asked me if I wanted to meet him at Panda Express for some casual lunch. As much as I wanted to decline, since I was suppose to be hanging out with Chris today, I accepted. Plus when has he ever put me before anyone else? Okay maybe a few times, but that one time that he didn't made all the rest of those times invalid.
I continued to chat on the phone with Emmet as I rummaged through my closet to find something decent to wear. Rose's name kept appearing on my phone but I decided she could wait as I continued to chat with Emmet. He was the sweetest guy ever.
thirty minutes later I said bye to Emmet and started getting dressed. Rose called again for like the seventh time and I figured it must be important if she called that many times.
"Hello?" She said sounding out of breath.
"Rose?" I said.
"Jasmine," She said followed by some sobbing.
"Rose? Rose what's going on? Are you alright?" I asked concerned.
"I don't know," she sobbed.
"Wha...what do you mean you don't know?" I asked confused.
"Jasmine, a family fight went down today that's why I couldn't talk earlier,"
"okay?"
"And everybody was so busy arguing and nobody noticed little Bobby leave out the open door."
I didn't like where this was going. Little bobby was Amanda, Rose's older sister's, two year old son. He was the cutest thing ever. Rose and I would make web cam videos with him every time I went over. He was like the baby brother I never had and I knew Rose loved him more than her life.
"ROSE WHAT HAPPENED!" I exclaimed. I could feel tears in my eyes from just the thought of something bad happening to little Bobby.
"He got hit by a car," She cried.
