The kitchen floor was covered with foam and dish water coming from the dish washer. It looked like something you'd see in a movie or something. The dish washer was still foaming. I ran across the kitchen floor trying not to slip and turned off the dish washer before it could create a bigger mess.
"Uh...I think there's something wrong with your dishwasher," I said stating the obvious.
"No shit Sherlock," He laughed and made his way across the kitchen.
"Or you're just an idiot who can't figure out how to use a dish washer," I said.
"That could also be a possibility," He said cocking his head to the side.
"Well goodnight," I said and strolled out of the kitchen. my jeans were wet and foamy and I started to itch in them a little. "Have fun cleaning this."
"Wait, you're not gonna help me clean up?" He called after me.
"Nope!" I called back.
"Okay I see how it is," He called. I could tell he was smiling.
I laughed. "Whatever!"
To be honest I was tired as shit and I really didn't want to help Chris clean this mess up. Not just the mess in the kitchen but the mess created by his stupid party too. But I couldn't leave him to clean that all by himself, even though he deserves to I mean no one asked him to throw that dumb party.
I crept up behind Chris struggling with the mop. I scooped up some foam and then tapped him on the shoulder and blew the foam into his face. He was stunned for a moment and then a mischievous smile spread across his face.
"Oh its on now," he said putting foam in my hair.
Before we knew it we were drenched in dish water and covered in foam.
"This is tweet worthy," Chris declared. He grabbed his phone of the kitchen counter. He put it there before our little water fight.
Chris tweeted and then showed me the tweet.
@Jasmine oh god you're soaking wet.
"Do you realize how wrong that sounds?!" I said outraged.
"I know," Chris said winking at me.
"Let's just clean this place up, Chris," I said rolling my eyes.
"I thought you weren't gonna help."
"I've had a change of heart," I said. "No get back to work."
Chris and I made a pretty good team because we cleaned the mess up in no time. We had the rest of the house left but Chris said he'd have the maid come and clean it early in the morning.
"Stay away from the damn dishwasher from now on," I said throwing myself on the couch.
"You don't need to tell me that twice," He said joining me.
I was tired and was ready to pass out on the couch. Chris' arm was slowly going around me but I didn't fight it. I layed my head on his chest and closed my eyes.
"How does attending a party with me tomorrow night sound?" He whispered.
I looked up at his face which was only inches away from mine. "I don't really have a choice do I?" I said softly.
He shook his head. "But I figured asking you if you wanted to go was better than saying you're going to a launch party with me tomorrow night."
I couldn't help but smile at that. I loved this side of Chris.
"What are you thinking right now?" Chris asked.
The mood was calm tonight as my head rested on Chris' chest. I lifted it and looked at Chris who was biting his lip waiting for me to answer.
"Which celebrities are gonna be at the party tomorrow." I said not wanting to say what I was really thinking.
"I thought you were unfazed by that stuff," He smiled.
"I get starstruck occasionally," I said. "What are you thinking right now?"
"Why your fiance called off an engagement with a girl as amazing as you." He said not hesitating at all when he said it.
"The same reason you cheated on me with your ex." I said quietly before I could stop myself. This conversation was steering in the wrong direction. There was an awkward silence.
"Forget I even said that," I said to Chris getting up. "It's getting late we should get some sleep."
Before I could walk off Chris's hand wrapped around my wrist and he had me back next to him on the sofa.
"What you saw that day," Chris started. "Is what happens when a girl decides to take advantage of her drunk ex."
I starred awkwardly at my hands. Leave it to me to make a perfectly normal conversation become awkward.
"I did you wrong Jazzy, I'm sorry." He said pulling me into a hug.
Don't cry! Don't cry! Don't cry! I chanted in my head.
My tears were feeling rebellious and went all Niagara falls on me.
"I love you, Jazzy," He said softly into my ear. "I never stopped."
"Me neither," I managed to say. "Where do we go from here?"
"I say we start over," I wasn't in Chris' embrace anymore.
Chris looked me in the eye and said "Hi I'm Chris Brown I have occasional jerk tendencies but I'm a pretty decent guy."
I burst out laughing. Chris was probably the only guy who could make me cry then laugh in the same minute. Chris smiled after making me laugh.
"And you are?" He asked smiling big.
"I'm Jasmine. I'm known for beating Breezy at Dance Central," I said feeling witty.
"Pshh I let you win," He laughed.
"Sure you did!"
Before we knew it we were wrestling and arguing over who really won Dance Central. I had Chris pinned down on the floor, but it was only a matter of seconds before he had me pinned on the floor.
"Let me go, Chris!" I screamed and laughed.
"No not until you admit that I'm the better dance," He said jokingly.
"Never," I said smiling mischievously.
"I've got all night," He said returning the smile.
I took one look into Chris' eyes and got lost for a moment. Chris noticed and I blushed. Then all of a sudden Chris' face got really close to mine and he kissed me soft and gently. I hesitated but kissed back. It was so magical. I could feel the passion in the kiss as it began to deepen.
I pulled away remembering that I was expecting an email from Emmet's friend who was an editor.
Chris looked at me confused as I pushed him off me.
"There's something I gotta do," I said getting up. "Plus it's getting really late and I need my sleep."
"Goodnight beautiful," Chris said kissing me on the forehead.
"Goodnight." I said walking back to my room.
I opened my email and there it was. The letter from Emmet's friend. Her name was Amanda Wright. In the email she said exactly what Emmet told me on the phone call. She loved the story and would be honored to publish it and she was willing to help me finish it. It had the address to her office attached and a meeting date which was tomorrow night the same time as the party, because she was booked the rest of the day. I was gonna have to do some sneaking around after the party but it was totally worth it. My dreams were about to come true.
I was so happy my stomach was doing somersaults. This was gonna be a great year for me. I got my boyfriend back. Fuck Ethan, Chris does it better anyway. Now I'm gonna get published.
I laid down on my bed and dozed off. It was easier to sleep at night knowing that Chris was all mine.
