It has been almost a week living with Namjoon. They bought the small mattress sheet for Namjoon to lay it on the floor to sleep while Jin got the bed. Namjoon's snoring was really...something. But it wasn't that bad. Jin could always use the earplug and besides, Jin is a deep sleeper anyway so he just had to fall asleep first before Namjoon's lighting and thunder starts crashing and striking in the room.
Namjoon said it is time to give up his rapping dream but actually the latter still didn't actually let it go. He works two jobs a day, but at night when he gets home, he is still sitting on a small desk writing lyrics and composing a track with his small machine till late night. He seemed to never rest. Or maybe that was how he rests and relieves his stress.
Jin thinks that Namjoon is one of the most hardworking people he has ever known. Namjoon may look like a carefree and childish person but the younger guy takes everything he does very seriously and to his heart. On top of all of that, he is also a big clumsy dork.
Jin was amazed at Namjoon's caring nature. Jin remembered one night, Namjoon came home with a big bag of instant noodles saying that he did a research on the internet and found this new ramen that is very tasty and might not be very bad for health because
"they don't use any bad chemical ingredients hyung! You don't have to worry okay? besides, they even add some nutrition in their noodles. Wow, they are really amazing, hyung." Namjoon's tone was very gentle and assuring while beaming innocently and softly at Jin.
And Jin just wanted to drop everything and hug the younger guy and sob in his big hands. On the outside, Jin didn't know how to process it, the thought of Namjoon going through all of that so that they wouldn't run out of money quickly from convenience store food or starves themselves. It made Jin feel the warmth in his heart. Maybe there could be someone who really could care about me...?
He still convinced Namjoon that it is never a good idea to eat instant noodles every day though. Instead, they agree to go grocery shopping every week and cook food for themselves instead; that way they could save money better and also could have a better meal.
Of course, Namjoon cannot cook or go anywhere near the kitchen. But they managed it. They have their own roles in the house. Namjoon can fix things, or move stuff, or clean. Or maybe not... the clumsy child already broke several plates already and the first week hasn't even come to an end yet.
It's not perfect but they'll manage it.
The room they share also isn't big, and personal space does not exist in their tiny room but Jin is content enough at how everything turned out. It is great to meet Namjoon, to share an apartment and live together. But again, how could he be so confident and comfortable that things won't turn out to be bad just like other things? Besides, he hasn't even stayed with Namjoon for that long yet.
His relationship with Jungkook started out great as well or that what he had thought. And looking at how the pain and heartbreak started 3 months into their dating.
Will you ever learn to not put your heart and soul on someone so easily?
Jin shook his head trying to get himself together.
It is a new start.
He can't change and dwell on his past.
He could only learn from it.
And he shouldn't allow his past to haunt him from living his present and making his future better.
That was the point of coming to Tokyo in the first place. To be someone who he is not. To learn about courage, about bravery, and to just do things without overthinking painfully too much. Things that he wouldn't do or could never do in Korea, he should be able to try and do it in Japan.
