A/N Lol I'm back I honestly couldn't handle waiting for this chapter any longer *rubs hands together* Get ready! Gahaha
Natsu's POV
Natsu got the vibe that he should probably leave the room, the silence was choking him. Lucy and Natsu had been sitting in the dark quiet on the couch for what felt like hours. He grabbed his stomach, scrunching up his face.
Natsu's gut decided that it would never forgive him for starving himself, It felt like he was punched from the inside of his stomach causing that queasy empty feeling. Natsu quickly got up and speed-walked to the kitchen, finally giving in. He didn't know why he hadn't eaten anything, maybe another subconscious thing he had done to feel human again. That sounds so stupid, of all things freak out about.
Natsu opened the fridge realizing that everything in there had to be made into something else not just eaten right away. He sighed, not wanting the effort so he checked the freezer. There had to be something premade in there. The first thing that caught his eye was the ice cream of course, but he also saw some frozen burritos. He ended up eating ice cream while waiting for the burritos to heat up.
It felt as though he had lost his once huge appetite, not wanting any more than two burritos. He was full and that was all that mattered. He found himself wandering back to the living room, just noticing Lucy gone from the couch. He felt a light tap on his wounded shoulder and jumped, he swung his head around already knowing it was Lucy. Probably going to scold him for getting into her fridge, but when he faced he got the opposite. "So, you're finally eating again?" She beamed. He felt too prideful to say he was, although it was a good thing that he was no longer starving himself.
"That's no big deal really, there are worse things." She raised a brow, "It's good to start at least somewhere." Lucy stated monotonously. She was right, he couldn't just be done with everything right away he still needed to break new and old habits. The cutting habit was fairly new but he still felt it might be the hardest to get rid of. It was the only thing that gave him that rush of what he thought of as truly being alive, he couldn't stand how tempting yet dumb it was.
He used to say he was punishing himself for being E.N.D but that was just cloaking reality is all. "So how are we gonna do this?" He asked leaning his head against the wall.
Lucy's POV
How are we going to do this? Let's be honest she had no idea. Lucy had had an idea before but it was a dumb way to satisfy both of their needs. He wanted to feel alive again or something like that, and honestly, that sounded just as appealing to her. Natsu and his seemingly everlasting joy was what made her day feel normal, that rush that one felt when seeing another's smile felt ten times stronger with him.
Sadly it had been a while since that had happened, and now she longed for more than that. He couldn't even bring himself happiness anymore, how was he supposed to give it to her? Her idea was that maybe- No it's too cliche. But it's worth a shot, besides what if it helps? Lucy turned red, and the awkwardness of the situation caught her throat. The burning shiver of electric anticipation hit her like a boulder when she looked him in the eyes. Natsu was looking a little concerned about why she was shaking or maybe that she was now the shade of a tomato.
Her mind decided that this feeling alone was too much, but her body said it was too late to turn back. Although nothing had happened yet. She moved her shaky hand up to his upper shoulder making sure not to touch the bandaged area and moved her other to his chest. She decided if he questioned what she was doing she would run out of the room and never try this again.
Surprisingly he got the message and put his hand on her upper back. This wasn't how she imagined it, it was going way better than planned. She had been in denial whether or not this would be a good idea or not ever since they got him back. Her heart was racing as his entranced eyes got closer and he leaned in, her mind was on the fritz making up thousands of possible outcomes of this.
Finally, the moment she had been dreading yet eager for all week. Their lips touched, that rush was like an amazing Tsunami that hit her full force. She had never felt anything like this in her life, it was like she had been pulled from reality and time. That moment lasted a lifetime yet ended too soon. They both slowly pulled away out of breath, she wondered if that was his first kiss too. It was almost embarrassing how long it took her to catch her breath again, while Natsu had stopped panting a while ago.
Natsu leaned his head against the border between the kitchen and living room looking like he had just seen a ghost. While Lucy decided that she would never regret that idea.
Natsu's POV (On the kiss again ^^)
Lucy started turning a shade of bright red and soon after she started shaking. He couldn't help be worried for a second, but he understood once she put her hand on his chest. He may be called an idiot at the guild but he knew what was happening. Soon enough he started to panic too, dreading messing something up. Instinct kicked in and his hand stroked her side and rode up her back. He soon found it was an uncomfortable position and moved his hand up to her hair. Uncertainty in her eyes reminded him that she probably had never kissed anybody before, just like him.
Natsu leaned in slowly not wanting to be aggressive, and as her face got closer his heart repetitively pounded faster and faster. She closed her eyes and he did the same getting a little light-headed, knowing what was coming next. Their lips finally touched, and he felt like he had been unlatched from everything. It felt like he was in a free fall, holding his breath waiting to hit the bottom waiting for it to end. It lasted a few more minutes and they both pulled away.
Trying to catch his breath, he leaned against the door frame. That feeling had surpassed all pleasure or pain any knife gave him. Lucy had picked a good way to start off his recovery, and he knew that whether or not she felt the same rush he did. That this was not a one-time thing.
The End
A/N Oh wow that was goooood I'm so proud of myself, like HOT DANG I think that I did pretty okay for a newbie at kiss scenes. Let me know how you liked this story, or if it ended on a bad note in the comments pls. Any spell/grammar checks would be deeply appreciated, although I think that Grammarly's got my back. But still, it's kinda sad to end this story (even though I've only been working on it 2 months)Comment if you want a sequel!
