Cherry's POV:
"He calls it the key, and this key emits a great energy. It requires much strength, power. Those houses I like the one you found they're located transformers. They're stealing from your town's power grid." Murray states, translating what Alexei is telling him.
"Why build the key here? Why are they not doing this in their own backyard? What are they trying to do blow us to smithereens?" Jim asked.
Alexei chuckled. "There were many of these, uh, keys before in Russia, but they turned out wrong. They had to come where the...where the, uh..." Murray says trailed off with a confused look on his face.
"Where the...what?" I asked, with a brow raised.
"I don't understand what he's saying."
"I thought you were fluent." Joyce and I said.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Are my free translation services not good enough for you? Because you can just go ahead and file your complaint right up my ass!" He said, yelling the last part.
I then looked to Jim and Joyce, "Did he just...did he just yell at me-I-listen here you balding little bitch!-" I started getting up.
"No, no, no, no..." Joyce said, trying to calm me down. "We don't need anymore fighting here." I look at Alexei, seeing as he's trying to grab our attention.
"What is smirnoff doing?"
"He's showing me." Murray said.
"Oh, okay. Uh, he says the straw they're using it to penetrate a hole in...a box?" He said, sounding confused. Alexei then explaining it at a slower pace. "Okay, sorry, sorry. The straw represents the key, which emits a great energy. They're using this energy to break through a barrier, to open...a doorway."
"A doorway between worlds." I say out loud.
Alexei takes the straw making it crash into the fry holder and making me jump.
"But it seems this key was only half the equation. Location--location was the other half."
Alexei takes a wrapper and gives it to Joyce to open a hold it up. "In Hawkins, this door had been opened once. It was still...healing." Alexei took the straw through the wrapper making me jump again.
"Jesus Christ." Jim and I whispered.
"So, this door is open now?" Joyce asked.
"He says it is...opening."
Joyce started going frantic. "Where are you going?" Jim asked her. "To call our children." She replied shortly.
Alexei looks over to Murray, pointing at the TV, "Can we watch Looney Tunes now?"
"No." Was the answer he got.
I saw Jim go somewhere with Murray following him.
I get up and sit down next to Alexei.
He looked up at me, "Thank you for helping." I tell him, he gave me a smile and I gave one in return.
Silence
"So, I see you really like Looney Tunes." I say.
"Yes, I do, it is a very hilarious show, they don't really show it in Russia." (idk if it's true or not)
"Is your name actually Cherry, or is it a nickname?" He asked me.
"It is my actual name, yes." I say smiling at him.
"I like cherry's." He tells me.
I started feeling my cheeks burn red and see his smile widen.
"I like cherry's too." I say, feeling a little flustered, I started feeling my chest tighten and my heart beat quicken.
I saw him move in a bit, my heart started beat in faster as it started beat in against my rib cage so hard I thought it was gonna burst out of my chest.
I started closing my eyes.

I could hear my heart beat in my head.

I felt his breath upon my lips.
