Rye sat in Andy's driveway biting his fingernails out of nervousness. He wanted to go to the door and knock but he was afraid he'd have to talk to Andys dad. He was already nervous enough just talking to Andy. He checked himself in his car mirror one last time before getting out of the car.
He knocked on the door and a minute later it was answered by Amelia. "Hi Rye What are you doing here" she asked smiling up at him. Rye smiled back and leaned down to her height "I'm going on a date with your brother" he said, smiling even wider at the thought and booping her nose. Amelia giggled and ran away going up the stairs going to get her brother. Rye decided to let himself in but when he turned around after shutting the door he wished he'd stayed outside.
There stood a few feet behind Rye with his arms folded over his chest, was Andy's father. The man glared at Rye as he began to move closer "what are you doing here" he asked as he stopped right in front of Rye, his intimidating glare never faltering. Rye opened his mouth to say something but the words never came out. He swallowed and cleared his throat "i-im uh t-taking A-Andy on a uh d-date" he stumbled over his words feeling the strong feeling of wanting to crawl in a hole and die because intimidating man infront of him.
Mr. Fowlers glare only increased when he said the word "date". He didn't like the idea of his son going somewhere with this boy again. "And what makes you think my son's going any-" "hi Rye" Andy said standing at the top of the stair, cutting his dad off. Rye stood there almost drooling at how good Andy looked. He had on a simple pink tshirt with ripped blue jeans but it looked amazing in him. Rye was in awe but was then shaken out of the state when someone cleared their throat loudly.
He turned his attention to Mr. Fowler watching as his face got red with anger. He opened his mouth to say something, probably going to tell at Rye for looking at his son in such a way when there was a tap on his arm. He turned to look at his wife as she stroked his arm "honey leave the boy alone he hasn't done anything wrong" she said still rubbing his arm, taking his hand to kiss it. He sighed and nodded as Andy can down the stairs to give Rye a hug which he returned.
"I want him back here before 10:30 no later then, if he's not back by then I'm calling the cops" Mr. Fowler said as he glared murderously at Rye. Rye nodded his head vigorously "of course sir he'll be back no later than 10:30 I promise" he said.
Mrs. Fowler wrapped her arm around her husband's waist in a side hug "don't mind him hes just a protective lunatic" she said laughing as she patted him on the leg. Andy was standing there with his arms crossed as her glared at his dad "Can we go now" he said, annoyance clear in his voice.
"Yes you may but give us a kiss first" his dad said holding out his arms, his mom doing the same. Andy's face turned a tomato red as he hugged his mom and dad giving the both a kiss on the cheek.
Rye smiled at them as he thought the whole scene in front of him was very cute. Andy turned to Rye and blushed again as he smiled at him. Andy took his arm and pulled him to his car, Rye using his other arm to open the door for Andy then went to the drivers side to get in.
"Where are we going" Andy asked after buckling his seat belt, Rye doing the same then turning on the engine. "It's a surprise" he said smiling Andy's way when he huffed, he was very impatient so he hated surprises.
"Aww don't be upset, you're gonna love it, I hope" Rye said, whispering the last part. "Huh?" Andy asked looking at Rye in confusion, tilting his head like an adorable little puppy.
Rye wanted to squish his cheeks but refrained "Oh nothing" he said and turned the volume up on the radio. The rest of the ride was spent with Rye listening to Andy singing beautifully to different songs that played while he tried to sing along off key just to make Andy laugh.
