Chapter Nine

Link and Ghirahim both entered the room as the doors slammed behind them. The room was completely dark and Link could see nothing. Soon, torches lit all around the room, leaving only the corners of the room in darkness. When the torches lit, Ghirahim was nowhere to be seen. All of a sudden, in the upper left corner of the room, two red lights appeared. They looked deadly and threatening, but why? The lights started moving closer as Link heard its footsteps coming towards him.
It stepped into the light and Link couldn't believe his eyes. It was... him, but... not him. It was Link, only all black except for his red eyes, and his evil smirk.

It was Dark Link. Link was going to have to fight himself, but how? As Link was about to attack Dark Link, something came from grasped him from behind and there was now a sword across his neck. Link didn't have to even think to know who it was. "Ghirahim! I knew you were up to something!" Link hissed. "Shhhh, the show's about to start." Ghirahim whispered in Link's ear as Dark Link approached closer and came to a halt in front of Link. Dark Link smiled and held his sword a few inches behind him and was ready to do a side slash. Link tried to move, but Ghirahim was holding him back until he finally released Link.
HIYAAAA!
At that very moment, Dark Link unleashed his attack and sent Link flying until he slammed against the wall. Link looked up only to see Ghirahim and Dark Link teamed up and ready to fight.

Link didn't know how he would fight Dark Link, let alone Dark Link and Ghirahim! He was outnumbered, but he had to think of something quick. Link got up as Ghirahim charged toward him. Link quickly blocked the attack with his shield, only to be hit again by Dark Link. Dark Link came in for a second attack, but Link backflipped and blocked the move and now stood face-to-face with Ghirahim as their swords collided. They were now trying to overpower each other. Link knew Dark Link was behind him, but he had to wait. Seconds later, Link hopped to the side as Dark Link was left hitting Ghirahim with a powerful blow that caused Ghirahim to fall to the ground.
Link took this opportunity to strike a finishing blow on Ghirahim. Now, Ghirahim was no longer one of Link's worries.

Link still had Dark Link to deal with. Link tried doing a thrust of his sword, but Dark Link hopped onto the sword as it extended and backflipped through the air and landed directly behind Link. Dark Link did another powerful side slash and threw Link to the ground. As Dark Link tried striking Link while he was down, Link blocked it with his shield.
He knows all of the same moves I know. I have to do something... unexpected, Link thought. Link suddenly pushed his shield forward to knock back Dark Link's sword and got up from the ground as he threw his shield at Dark Link bringing him to the ground, stunned and dazed. Link repeatedly slashed at his dark self and then landed a final blow on him.
Dark Link was now gone.
Link, badly wounded, headed next for Faron Woods, in search of the final fragment of Morrt's power.
