Unexpected Fiance

Chapter 9

After Arunadevi's departure , I couldn't stay in the same place. I felt like a caged tiger. Both my body and mind feeling restless, till I know the reason, I will not be able to feel at ease. But the answer to my question will be known tomorrow night only.

No, I cannot wait that long." In a split second, I searched for the Secretary's visiting card and dialed his number. I didn't allow myself to think more, if I think I might not do what I want. In the second ring, a calm voice answered the phone.

"Hello, Is this Mr.Karnan, Secretary of Mada.. Highness Aruna Devi, I am Teekshana speaking."I completed in one breath.

"Hello Madam. Yes it is me. Please let me know how could I help you." he asked politely.

"I..You.. Can you please give the hotel address and schedule of Chiranjay, I am planning to visit him." I asked hesitantly.

There was a silence on the other end for a couple of minutes.

Before I say any more words, Mr.Karnan's voice came back in the call. "Sure I can give you the details. But is there any emergency or urgent matter. If so please let me know I can handle it for you. " he asked

"No, there is no such thing. I just want to talk to him." I couldn't come up with a reason spontaneously.

With a little hesitation,"He will be back tomorrow night" he added.

Why can't he just stop asking questions and give me the details I asked, holding the last ounce of fading patience, I replied politely ,"I wanted to give him a surprise visit. Can you please give me the details, I need to arrange for my transportation and stay."

After a brief pause, he gave the details via SMS. "Thank you" I added and about to cut the call.

"At what time, you are planning to start, I will pick up and send you in our helicopter, you can directly land in his hotel. I will also arrange a room in the same hotel. " he added.

I was about to deny the favors, but if I am going to make the arrangements that will delay the travel for a few more hours. Let's use this opportunity and get it over with. I can repay them in some other way. I decided.

"Thanks a lot, I will be ready in another 30 mins." I replied.

"Ok. I will send you the driver now. Once you are ready, you can take the car in front of your dormitory itself." he added.

I hesitated for a minute before saying my thanks again.

"Is there anything you want to add,Madam." he asked.

"As I said, this is going to be a surprise visit, I do not want anyone to know about it. Anyone." I stressed the word more than it required.

With a little smile, he replied,"I understood Madam, And in 3 hours you should reach the hotel. By 2 PM he should be back to the hotel."

I pressed my thumb into my palm to drain the embarrassment I was feeling. I steadied my voice and thanked him once again.

By the time I reached the hotel, it was already 2.30 PM. Since my room was already booked and though her arrival was notified by the Royal secretary, her presence was kept secret. So very few staff were waiting for her arrival.

It took only a few minutes to settle in the room. As per the schedule, he would be back to the hotel at 2 PM and at 2.30 he has a business lunch and will be back to his room at 4 PM.
