Unexpected Fiance

Chapter 10

On the return journey both of them didn't talk much. Except he is asking about my needs in his private jet and me answering his questions. That was the major talk happened in the whole journey. Is there any piece I missed in today's conversation, I asked myself. I started recollecting our left over conversation

"Our engagement" I repeated his words like a parrot.

"Yes." he replied in a single word.

"But why?" I asked, before he answered I added "Do not tell me it is to rebel.. I will not believe it."

A disappointed bitter smile ran across his lips.

"Then tell me what do you want me to say? Looks like you know me very well than I know myself." he questioned me.

"I don't know why you want our engagement. I have never met you in my life. You have never met me. Then what could be the reason?" "Is it some kind of Royal bet?" No matter how much I have thought about it , I couldn't find a reason for his insistence in having the match.

"If you are not going to give a reason which convinces me, no matter what I am going to break this engagement , even if it is going to ruin my entire family. I and my feelings cannot be toyed with." I replied with utter desperation and turned my back to him to control my unshed tears. I do not know the reason why his actions affecting me a lot. It is true, his lie affected me. His easy attitude bothers me. Why?? Because I am involved in this engagement wholeheartedly and I wanted him to do the same. Because we both had reasons for this engagement. Even though my reason was my attraction towards him, his was rebelling his family. We had some reasons that connect us together. But now, that is also not there, I felt I am the only one in the engagement. At that moment I felt all alone. My body was shivering with silent cry.

Two strong arms circled around my body. I didn't try to break free from his hug. "Why do you think we do not have any reason to get engaged? Are we not attracted to each other ? Is it not good enough to start a relationship" he asked

My body went a little rigid, how did he know that I was attracted to him. Remembering my response to his kiss, my cheeks started burning. But wait.. Did he tell he is also attracted to me? But Why...?? It is not like I have low confidence, but it is not like he has not seen beautiful ladies in his life. Even he had few relationships in his past as per the magazines. But all the ladies are from either royal families or from families equivalent to royal families in both status and beauty. Though she is also from a wealthy family ,but her family cannot be equal to a royalty. All his past girlfriends are entirely different from her looks. They were more of pale complexion, taller, slimmer and more elegant and outgoing personality. But I am the exact opposite of his type with golden complexion, average height with a curvy full figure with very much introvert. Only the close friends and family know my true personality for all the other I am always a ice queen who hardly has any emotions or any regards for any other feelings. On what basis he was attracted to me? I turned to look at his eyes. As if he was waiting for me to turn, he also gazed into my eyes as if he was also looking for some answers.

But is it ironic, he is also not entirely my type either. Till the day i met him , the guys I have dated are not of his height or complexion. Though they are taller than me they were not tall like him. Most of the guys were little tanned complexion and not like his yellowish complexion like mine. The guys are also very much like myself, introvert, who do not tease me or provoke me. They were never make me feel desperate or frustrated for any reason. Finally they were all boys.. But he is a Man in every way possible.

"Is it enough for an engagement?" I cannot even recognize my own voice. Is it my voice? Why is it so soft as if it is quivering with emotions.

He hugged my head and pressed it on his broad chest.
