Ben's POV

"Hey Jonesy." Allison said after opening the door for me.

"Hey."

I hadn't seen her in forever. Acting school had me so busy that I had almost no time to myself.

"Come in." I walked past her and threw myself down onto the couch across from her mother.

"You two have got some catching up to do. I'll leave you to it." Her mom got up and left the room.

Allison sat beside me and flipped through her wedding invitations. I watched her intently, as if I was hypnotized. I still love her, and I think she's making a horrible mistake by marrying Matt.

"You don't look too well." She really didn't. It looked as though she hadn't slept for days.

"Thanks for noticing."

I probably shouldn't have said anything. We stayed silent for a good while.

I broke the news to her about changing my name. It was just something I felt like I had to do.

"Well, you know you'll always be good old Jonesy in my mind." She placed her hand on my thigh. I could've sworn my heart exploded.

We made plans to have lunch over the weekend, and soon it was time for me to go.

When I stepped out the door, I just stood there for a few seconds. I'm not sure why. As I was about to head on down the hallway, I heard yelling coming from the other side of the door.

"How could I like him?!"

"He's a beautiful boy, Allison! He's talented, charming, and I love him!"

Were they talking about me?

"Oh, so Matt's just a piece of shit? He not talented? You don't love him?"

They were definitely talking about me. My heart sunk.

"N-no"

"Well mum, that's basically what you're saying. Matt's not up to your standards. Well guess what? I'm marrying him."

I heard heavy footsteps coming toward the door. It swung open.

She looked surprised to see me in front of her.

"B-Ben...I didn't mean any of that." She gently grabbed my shoulder but I shook it off.

"Yeah, right." I left her standing in the middle of the hallway. As I walked to the elevator, I could feel her eyes on me.

At this point, I was debating on not going to her wedding. I don't think I could bear watching her walk down the aisle and saying her vows to someone other than me. I'd always imagined us getting married.

But it was all over now.
