I want to bring you flowers
I want to see your face light up before you grab them
And just as the light reaches peak brightness
I want to snatch them away dulling any glow you dispersed
I want you to feel rejected
I want you to be called desperate
So you can understand the dripping mascara
And the tear stained sheets
As more than just a pathetic outcry
And more like a clanging crashing cymbal of my heart fragmenting back to the pieces I'm barely holding together most days
I want you to have to explain why your face is drenched in sadness
Why you silence all emotion in the presence of othersExcept that I don't really...
I don't want you to ache with every passing breathe
I don't want you to drown in your own puddle of tears because there are no umbrellas for your depression
I just want you to know that when you say something it matters
Your insults get tattooed in my brain
Killing me with the awful refrain
A dreadful composition of pain that no one else can hear
I want you to care that you're strangling me in the atmosphere...**********
The difference between my poems a couple of years ago and now will never stop astonishing me. Hope you enjoy.
