Heather lead the way to Patrick's cell as Jade followed behind us. Heather asks me, "Is it me, or is Eliza just shady as hell?"
I told her, "She's seemed shady to since the very second I met her."
"Her moods are always different whenever she's either hiding something,-" Jade said.
"Or someone," Heather added.
"She's right." We were right around the corner from Patrick's cell. We went around as we all saw him leaning against the back wall. Patrick held his head up, and you could tell just by his eyes he was broken. "My sources around here told me that Eliza is engaged," Patrick said to us.
"To who?" I asked.
Patrick walks to the front of his cell as he says, "Don't know." He sticks out his hands from the bars as he says, "But I have an idea as to who it may be."
"Who?" I asked. Don't toy with me Bane.
"Why should I tell you?" He replied. "You have nothing to offer me." Patrick turned away for a moment until I gently took his right hand and placed Diane's ring inside it. He looks down at the ring as he asks me, "Where did you get this?"
Heather answers, "Taylor recognized when she saw Eliza wearing it earlier today during lunch."
"I took it back from her," I added. I then told Patrick, "If something were to happen to me, I would want someone to give my ring to my husband."
Patrick says to me, "Thank you."
"Your welcome," I replied.
Just as we were about to walk away, Patrick quickly says, "Patterson."
"What?"
"I'm not quite sure, but I'm almost one hundred percent sure that it's Patterson's son."
"Kyle?"
"Yes."
"How certain are you that it's him?" Jade asked.
Patrick answers, "I would stake my life on it. I don't have much to lose at this point." He then adds, "However, you'd need proof about the two of them."
Patrick I felt almost had given up on living because of Diane's death. I cupped his right cheek as I told him, "You still have your sister. Susan needs you, Patrick. If you can't live for Diane, then live for your sister." I wiped a tear away on his face as I told him, "Don't worry."
"The first thing I hear and or see. You'll be the first person to know."
"Good."
I get to my cell and notice a note on my bed. Lincoln was fast asleep, so he probably didn't notice. I sat down on my bed as I read the note.
Great. Seeing Vladimir was something I've wanted to avoid.
The next morning I woke up feeling ill. Not sick, thank god. Morning sickness. Walking down the hallway with Noah I asked, "Why does Vladimir want to see me?"
"Don't know," Noah answered.
"That's not gonna help me much," I replied breathing heavily.
Noah stops me and hands me a peppermint, "Here. This should help."
Walking into Vladimirs office, all I was prepared to do was fight if I had to. I opened the door and saw Vladimir was reading Jane Eyre. I said aloud, "I am not an angel, and I will not be one till I die: I will be myself."
Vladimir pops his head up from the book with a smile, "Mrs. Mason. Please, sit."
I sat down as Vladimir closed his book. His expression changed rather quickly as he just sat across from me looking puzzled. "Why am I here?" I asked trying to break the awkward silence.
Vladimir answers, "I'm moving you into a different cell. You'll be bunking with the Kane twins."
Okay, I still don't see why I'm needed here when I could be sleeping. "Is there anything else you wanted to tell me?" I asked.
Again with the staring. Vladimir gets up from his chair as I quickly swallowed the peppermint I had in my mouth. He stood in front of me as he firmly grabs me by the jaw. Vladimir then says, "Somethings different about you." Oh shit!
"How have you been feeling?"
"Peachy," I answered a bit snarky. Now let go of me!
Before Vladimir could continue with his questions, Noah walked into with the stuff I had in my cell. Thank god. Noah says, "I'm ready to bring her to cellblock G."
Vladimir lets me go by swiping my face away as I started walking over to Noah. The door closed behind me as I told Noah, "Your timing is impeccable."
"What do you mean?"
"I think Vladimir is noticing somethings off about me."
"Don't worry. He's not going to find out."
"But what if he does, Noah?"
"I will handle it," Noah replied. He pats me on the back and says, "I promise."
