Miklia's P.O.V.

For the last few weeks, mom gave me some songs to try out for the audition and helped me out with my monologue until I fully memorized it. I was a little nervous but I decided that I'll try my best to get a part in the musical, no matter what part I get. Sorey was so excited to do audition and Lailah and Rose told me that she was going to be one of the tech people, so she'll keep an eye on Symonne.

Anyway, today was the day of the audition and I was a bit nervous. I was worried I wouldn't get a part in the musical but one half of me believed I can do this. Before I left, mom put a bow on my head, which I asked why she did that and mom told that it's cute. I didn't mind the bow but I don't want to be known as cute girl to the school but I didn't want to upset my mom, so I decided to wear the bow.

When I got to the backstage, Sorey was waiting for me and ran over to give me a hug as soon as I entered. When Sorey asked me why I was wearing a bow, I told him that mom told me that it'll look cute on me and Sorey agreed, saying it did look cute. We talked for a while until Sorey said he had to get his monologue and song ready and went to practice. I saw people looking at me, most were smiling while others were frowning.

I was going over my monologue one last time, until I heard someone say, "looks like someone wants to be like me." I looked up to see Symonne standing right there; "I'm not trying to be like you, for your information," I said, "I'm pretty sure that I don't have your same song and monologue." "No, you have a bow in your hair," Symonne said, "I always wear a bow in my hair." "So?" I asked and Symonne said, "so, not like I mind, but if your really trying to get the main part, you'll have to try a bit harder."

"The people doing the audition don't care what you look like," I said, "they only care if your talented or not." "Whatever," Symonne said, "good luck newbie." Before I could say anything, Symonne walked away from me. Oh, it's on now, no more Mrs. Nice Girl; I continued to practice my monologue until I got it down. I already got my song down, it was monologue that was giving me the problem.

After a little while, the auditions started to begin. A few kids went up and they were very talented with the monologues and their songs. Anyway, after the fifth person went up to do their monologue and song, it was now Sorey's turn. The director said to Sorey the same thing to the rest; do the monologue first before the song. When Sorey did his monologue first, he was very believable. Had he played in a play before? Anyway, after his monologue, he was suppose to sing a song from a musical movie or actual musical.

Someone from backstage gave Sorey a mic, like they do with the other people who auditioned, and Sorey started to get ready to sing. I knew what song he was going to sing and I was getting really excited to hear it. "I have often dreamed of a far-off place, where a hero's welcome will be waiting for me," Sorey sung, "where the crowds will cheer when they see my face, and a voice keeps saying, 'this is where I'm meant to be.'"

I was surprised by Sorey's voice, I bet Symonne was too because when I looked over to where she was, her mouth was hung open. Sorey is really talented, I just hope it's enough to get him a main part. "I'll be there someday, I can go the distance, I will find my way, if I can be strong," Sorey sung, "I know every mile, will be worth my while; When I go the distance, I'll be right where I belong." I looked over to the director and I could tell that she looked impressed; "down an unknown road, to embrace my fate, though that road may wander, it will lead me to you," Sorey sung, "And a thousand years would be worth the wait, it might take a lifetime but somehow I'll see it through."
