Four years have passed since Oliver and Felicity's wedding, and last year we learned they were expecting a daughter named Mia. They are both super happy and expected... finally they have the family they always wanted.
Things in the city go the same way, I work at CCPD and then I go to S.T.A.R Labs. We have been using healing so much and the goals we have changed are happy to have a second chance to have a normal life. With Iris they are also very well, we talk a lot both and we are the two best friends, as before. She eventually married Luke and are expecting a boy right now. It was a very simple marriage with only the most important people.
Things with Caitlin are better than ever and I'm very happy with her, so I think it's finally time we move on.... I've been thinking a lot and I think it's time to propose to her. When I told Cisco what he planned to do, he was extremely happy with the news and gave me a list of everything he needed to place the perfect order.
The first task was to find an engagement ring so I asked Iris for help and went to a jewelry store and with her help I chose the perfect ring. The second task was to find a place to place the order. That was more complicated... but I ended up choosing the beach. She loved to go for a walk, said the beach air was good for her, so I chose a remote place where no one could bother us.
Cisco was tasked with distracting Caitlin so she wouldn't even think to ask me why I was never around today or why whenever I was with her, I was weird and a little distant. With Iris's help I went to prepare things on the beach and rented a tent there for tonight. I explained to the owner what I planned to do because she was a little reluctant to rent me for the night, as it was normal to rent a tent for the day and he did.
After some time preparing the surprise, I texted Cisco to find out where they were and said I could already let her go home that I was just coming. When she arrived, I already had a basket of food for our picnic. I explained that I had a surprise and so I had to leave her for a sale, which she reluctantly accepted.
Fifteen minutes later we reached the beach and everything was as I planned and wanted, ie with no people around us. We walked a little through the sand and when we arrived I counted to three and took the blindfold off.
POV Caitlin:
I was with Cisco at the mall all afternoon looking for clothes for him but I was already tired and besides that Barry still didn't say anything to me, didn't even ask what time I got home and that made me worried, I could only think that something had happened, but in the evening Cisco finally let me go home and there he was with a basket and telling me he was going to surprise me.
Some time after we left the door of our apartment, he took my blindfold off and we were on the beach and let me say it was beautiful. I sat on the towel on the floor and Batrry took the food he had brought from the basket. We ate and then took me to a tent that was right next to the place where he had prepared our dinner.
When I walked in I noticed it had the same decor as it was on the beach but I wasn't sure why Barry was doing all this.
"Barry..." I said turning around, but when I did he was behind me on his knees and that's when I realized what was going on.
- Can I just say something? The day I met you and Cisco was the happiest day of my life and I didn't even know it at the time. Later I realized that I had met some spectacular friends. When Music Miester "kidnapped" me and woke up in that "reality" I was confused but over time I realized why he had sent me there and my life was simpler and more complete. It was then that I began to fall in love with you and with the situation of Iris and our son, finally I could see and understand that my feelings for you would not only disappear but would increase. Basically it all comes down to one thing, one idea.... I want you to be my wife and to share my life with both Barry Allen and The Flash with you.... It was one of the best nights of my life and I could finally say that Barry was mine forever. After the wedding proposal in that fantastic beach hut, we spent the night there together and in the morning we went to our house to change clothes because we had to work.
We changed clothes and Barry went to CCPD and I to S.T.A.R. Labs and there Cisco asked me a bunch of questions about how it had gone and that's when I showed him the ring and he just smiled and hugged me.
POV Barry:
After I asked Caitlin and she accepted, I was extremely happy because that meant I had her with me every day of my life. After we got home in the morning, we changed clothes because we were still with yesterday and went to CCPD where Joe wondered how it had gone and I was very happy to say that she accepted.
After some conversation with him and Ralf who wanted to know the news, I went to my desk and got a message from Iris asking if she wanted to go have coffee to tell her the news. I arrived at the Jitters and she already had two coffees sitting at a table waiting for me. I greeted her with two kisses and sat opposite her, sipping my drink.
"So tell me how it went?" Asked Iris curiously.
"I couldn't have run, she accepted!"
- Barry! This is fantastic! I'm really happy for you, I really want you to be happy and I know you'll be by Caitlin's side, 'said Iris, smiling.
"You know, I know what I'm going to say is weird, but sometimes I think to myself that I'm glad what happened between us happened."
- As well?
"Betrayal was a positive thing." I mean it's obviously a horrible thing to do to someone else but in our case it gave me the courage to accept that I was no longer in love with you but with Caitlin. If the betrayal had not happened then I would be married to you and not engaged to her. "Seen that way, yes, but I still regret how things ended up between us." If I wasn't 100% in our relationship, I should have told you something or broken up and not cheated on you.
"I agree, but what has passed is now and we are both very happy and more than we were in the past." I see how you look at Luke and I know he is your love.
"Yes, I really like him!" Said Iris, smiling at her wedding ring.
After some more talking, we both got back to our jobs.
