Chapter 5 The glade

        "Do you know who you are? What your name is? Are you scared of us?" Oh how blind Alby was, thinking I don't know my name by now. And of corse I was scared but I'll never admit that to those ruffian boys. But no I don't know who I am thats the worst part. I just stared at him as the mid day sunlight streamed down onto the cot upon which I was seated. Jeff stood up and said'' Whell this is getting us nowhere. Why do we have to interagate her here? why not the pit?'' He suggested to Alby and Newt. Alby looked over to Newt who had his head bowed. Whell at least I new that someone other than me was feeling very tierd.'' Newt. do you agree with what Jeff said?''

        " Er, what?What? Oh yeah, the pit. Umm no. Guys don't you think she's been through enough already? I mean why stress her out even more?" FINALLY! Someone who relates to me! Newt looked at me. His eyes met mine and his chocolate brown eyes softened, which made me want to crawl into his arms." No Newt. We need to make sure she dosen't run away again into the..." His voice trailed off as Jeff took a stand from his wooden chair" Whell, if we don't want her to run away again then mabey we should show the new greenei around and keep an eye on her while she's here. But at night we could lock her up in the pit until she proves worthy and trustful enough to sleep elsewere." My eyes fell away from Newt as Jeff said this.

        I got how they didn't trust me but to lock me up every night? Who knows how long it would take the boys to trust me. Newt looked at Jeff then to Alby.'' If its ok with you I could watch her and show her around the Glade. We could swap duties every now and then." I liked this boys judgement. Something about him told me to stick close to him. Alby looked at me and shighed." Whell Newt..." He hesatated before he continoued. I looked up at Newt and saw beads of sweat coming down his forhead." Looks like you got the first shift. Keep her in your sight at all times."

        " Co'mon greenie! I'll show you around the Glade." I mustered up the courage to go outside. Alby instructed me to stay close to Newt and vis versa. We walked across the feild of grass and came up to probably the tallest tree i've ever seen. It had a ladder going up to several landings. Each one of the landings had a waist high railing on each side."You afraid of heights greenie?" Newt said sarcasticly to me." Not that I know of." Newt turned around and looked at me shocked." She bloody speaks!"
