It was Rex

You met up with Robbie in the hallway Monday morning. As he walked you to class, you noticed he was holding Rex once again.

"So are you two getting along better?" You questioned.

"Oh me and Rex? Yeah, we talked it out and everything is back to normal." Robbie replied.

"Hahaha yeah normal." The puppet said suspiciously, while looking directly at you.

Even though you liked Robbie a lot, you couldn't help but get creeped out by Rex.

You walked into Sikowitz' class and sat together like always. Class went by like normal, but you had to pair up with Cat instead of Robbie and found yourself missing being his partner. Finally, the period ended and you rejoined Robbie on the walk to the courtyard for lunch.

"I'll go get us both a sandwich y/n, be right back" Robbie said as he sat Rex down in the vacant seat at the table beside you and made his way to the food truck.

"Well well well," Started Jade with a mischievous grin, "Robbie and y/n make a pretty cute couple, don't they?"

"Well we're not really..." you trailed off, you didn't know what to say when you were put on the spot.

"Oh, you're not a couple? Well with all of the time you two have been spending together—

"Leave them alone Jade." Beck came to your rescue. "Don't let her get to you. She loves trying to get reactions out of people."

Jade glared at Beck as Robbie came back to the table. He placed a sandwich in front of you and then sat down with Rex in his lap.

"What were you guys talking about?" Robbie asked as he took a bite out of his sandwich.

"Nothing! We were just talking about" you struggled to come up with a lie.

"The upcoming prom!" Tori said as she gave you a small smile.

You let out a relieved breath and started eating your sandwich. Lunch went on without anymore confrontation from Jade, and as did the rest of the school day. You couldn't find Robbie when you were going to your fourth class, and he walked in ten minutes late. You found this a bit odd as he had been walking you to all of your classes, but decided not to pry.

After class ended, when Robbie would normally walk you to the parking lot, he stopped short in the hallway.

"I just remembered, I have to do some clean up from last weeks play in the black box theatre right now," Robbie said scratching the back of his neck.

"Oh yeah that's fine! I guess I'll see you tomorrow" You said, wondering why he had been acting kind of weird all afternoon.

You parted ways and made your way to the parking lot alone. When you got to your car, you stopped dead in your tracks when you saw the driver's side door. Somebody keyed your car, but it wasn't just one scratch. It looked like someone went crazy scratching up the entire thing. The small bit of fear you felt when you thought about what kind of a psycho would do such a thing to your car was quickly replaced with anger. You stormed back into the school determined to tell the principal and figure out who did it. That's when Andre stopped you and grabbed you by the arm.

"Andre what are you doing? I have to go to the principal right now, someone—

"I know who scrathced up your car, but you're not gonna like it," Andre replied in a whisper as he pulled you to the janitor's closet.

"What do you mean you know who did it?" You said once you were both in the closet and Andre shut the door.

"I mean I got them on video, just watch" he said as he held his pear phone in front of your face and pressed play.

You couldn't believe what you were seeing. Right there, crouched beside your driver's side door holding Rex, was Robbie. A wave of anger passed over you. How could he do something like that? But more importantly why would he do something like that? You thought you were friends maybe even more than that, and Robbie seemed like he felt the same way. You threw open the door and made your way to the black box theatre. You needed answers.

You practically knocked down the door to the black box and saw Robbie standing in the middle of the stage holding Rex.

"Wanna tell me why you scratched up my freaking car?!" You said with venom in your voice.

"Y/n it's not what you think— it wasn't me it was" Robbie looked both ways and then covered Rex's ears. "It was Rex."

You stared at Robbie with your mouth gaping open. Was this some kind of joke?

"Rex?! Are you kidding me?!" Robbie looked like he was about to say something else, but you cut him off. "Rex is a PUPPET Robbie. PUPPETS don't key peoples cars!!" You were too angry to hold back.

"Y/n I promise I can explain everything to you if you just give me a chance," Robbie said, still covering Rex's ears. "But we can't talk here."

"Fine." You said with a sigh as you crossed your arms. "You can come over to my house later and I'll give you a chance to explain yourself." You didn't wait for his response as you stormed back out of the room.
