The Beacon Academy dance hall was alive with music and laughter, colorful lights dancing across the faces of students as they swayed to the rhythm. In the center of it all, Daniel guided Ruby through the steps of a simple waltz, his hands gently positioned on her waist and hand.
"So, you go like this... and then this..." Daniel demonstrated, moving with practiced ease.
Ruby stumbled slightly, her cheeks flushing. "Okay."
Daniel smiled reassuringly. "And... there you go! It's easier than it looks."
Ruby sighed in frustration. "Urgh, I think I need to practice more."
"That is true," Daniel said with a slight chuckle. "Anyway, let's get some drinks. What do you say?"
"I would love that," Ruby replied, allowing him to lead her away from the dance floor.
The scene shifted to the second tier, where Daniel, Ruby, Yang, and Sleek leaned against a handrail overlooking the festivities below. Daniel took a sip from his beer, enjoying the cool beverage.
Yang raised an eyebrow. "Wait, aren't you still underaged for that?"
Daniel looked confused. "Huh?"
Ruby gestured to the beer in his hand. "This."
Daniel shrugged. "What? It's just a drink."
Sleek grunted. "Forget it."
Yang shook her head with a smile. "You know what? I think we really needed this."
Below them, Blake and Blaze moved gracefully across the dance floor, while Sun watched with a disappointed expression. Nearby, Ren and Nora waltzed with surprising elegance, and Penny danced alone, flanked by two Atlas soldiers who maintained a respectful distance.
"Yeah, and you both did a great job planning it too!" Ruby said enthusiastically.
Yang reached over and pulled Ruby into a crushing one-armed hug. "Aw, thanks! It wasn't all me, though. Weiss and Shade did a lot too."
Sleek nodded. "That is actually true."
Ruby stopped struggling and looked down at the main floor, where Weiss was dancing with Shade. "Tomorrow it's back to work."
"I'm sure we can handle whatever gets thrown at us," Ruby said confidently, before a sudden burst of laughter drew their attention. "Except for that."
Daniel and Sleek struggled to contain their laughter as the camera focused on Pyrrha, who had turned to see Jaune approaching her in a white dress with a blue ribbon.
"Jaune?" Pyrrha asked, her eyes widening in surprise.
Jaune shrugged, looking both embarrassed and determined. "Eh, a promise is a promise."
Pyrrha's expression shifted from shock to amusement, then to full-blown laughter. "Jaune! You didn't have to!"
"Hey, an Arc never goes back on his word," Jaune said, extending his hand to her. "Now do you wanna stand there and laugh at me, or do you wanna dance?"
Pyrrha took his hand, still smiling. "I would love to dance." Jaune swept her away, and Pyrrha let out a small gasp of surprise.
"Oh my god, it's happening!" Daniel exclaimed, grabbing Ruby's hand. "Let's go, Ruby!"
"Where?!" Ruby asked, confused.
"Outside," Daniel said, dragging her away from the railing.
On the tier above, Mercury and Emerald observed the students with calculated interest.
