A Faith Feeling

Chapter 9

The amethyst sky twinkle and shimmer above the moon horizon. The shooting stars fly across the the stars, shining bright than ever. Shasta still awake, sees the star flying across, putting a small smile on her face.

She close her eyes as the moonlight flash upon her. She starts mumbling under her breathe, she let a soft words travel to the ears of the star. "Please, let me have a chance.."

Chase woke up from his long sleep, yawning and stretch his hind. His first step came across his his mind: Check on Shasta.
He walk to the entrance of the lookout, nothing. All he see is a smooshed spot where Shasta once was. He check her pup house, nothing. Chase is now at a worry state, he try not to panic when he quickly saw Zuma and Marshall.

He run up to them and stop in front of them, panting hardly. "Uh, dude you ok?"

"Ijustlookinthelookoutandi-"

"Woah, slow down there. Why don't you just take a deep breath and tell us what's up?" Said Marshall consoling Chase.

Chase took a deep breathe and calm his cool. "Well, I just woke up and I decide to check on Shasta, and then she isn't there and now I'm so worry."

The two pups looked at each other confusingly.

"I'll tear someone apart if they hurt her"

"Chase."

"I need to find her, what if she lost."

"Chase, dude"

"We gotta help her, she not in a good condition! We have to tell Ryder, WE GOTTA TELL HIM!"

"Chase!"

Chase stopped and gaze at the two pups, "Didn't you know that Ryder took her to Katie to have a check up?" Chase immediately turn pink after this, and facepalm and curse himself for this behavior.

"Sorry for reacting this way. Heh, I knew she was with Ryder." He walked away from the pups and towards Katie. The two pups looked at each other once again, "He totally like Shasta." Said Zuma to Marshall.

Chase ran across the bridge of adventure bay, seeing the vet and groom building from the distance. As Chase made it and about to enter the groom, he was stopped by Everest and Skye.

"Hey Chase! You came to see Shasta?" Said Skye.

"Uh..y-yea. I mean yes I am." Said Chase

"Oh, well Shasta is in good condition so there no need to worry for her." Said Everest entering.

Chase gave a confuse look as she walked in the groom and back at Skye. Skye shrugged and entered as well, leaving Chase behind. In the medical room, Shasta was sitting on the patient bed, where she is waiting for Katie's diagnoses to Shasta. "Well, should be good, she is able to pushing on her paw and able to walk." Said Katie with a clipboard.

"Thank you Katie."

"Its no biggie. Just doing my job."

The door slightly open revealing the three pups who entered the vet. "Shasta! Your okay!" Said Skye doing her famous backflip.

"Its great to see you already on foot." Said Everest.

Shasta giggled, "thanks guys, you are so sweet." Her eyes caught Chase's, and smiled sweetly. Chase felt his muzzle warm, her smile always gets him, but why. When Skye smile why doesn't he feel warm inside. No, I can't like Shasta. I just can't, I love Skye only her.

"Its nice to see you ok." Said Chase forcing a smile after the short words.

Shasta kept her smile, but her heart was already aching. Just...ok. Shasta thought. She kept that forced smile, until Skye broke the awkward silence.
