I found myself back in the room with the tree laying on the ground as if I had fallen asleep.
"You must break the chains of the past if you wish to move forward," I hear a feminine voice echo around the cave.
"Alright, but why should I listen to you? You haven't even shown your face," I spoke to the air.
"Oh, you're right, allow me to introduce myself," a huge door appeared out of nowhere opposite to the tunnel I came in through.
It swung open and a giant Black lizard came through, wait it has wings, it's a dragon!!!
"I am the nearly immortal familiar of the immortal Black Dragon Emperor, Karinakty, but you can just call me Karin,"
"*Gasp* Your a dragon!! I thought they were all killed, can you fly can you breathe fire what kind of magic do you know what do you mean familiar how do you leave this cave your huge-"
"All your questions will be answered, but for now let me just take on a more suitable form," she, is it a she? It sounds like a she, I'll just go with she right now, anyway she then looked me over examining me.
A few seconds later she exclaims, "got it!" And starts to glow, her form then shrinks, and I can't tell much, but from what I can, she looks kinda like me.
The glowing stops and I immediately cover my eyes, and she's definitely a girl, "umm, you don't have any clothes on," I tell her shyly.
"Oh my, your right let me fix that," there was a whoosh and some sparkling like noise, and "there, that's better, but to be fair you don't have a shirt on,"
I uncovered my eyes to see her as a black Dragonoid with dark gray highlights, as for the clothes she is wearing, there just seems to be a long strip of cloth wrapped around her chest multiple times and some thigh length shorts.
"Well, to be fair I can't really wear a shirt because of these," I say gesturing towards my wings, that's when I realized I was a complete idiot and walked all the way here instead of flying.
"But anyway, can you please release Aitami?" I asked, "oh right, just give me a second," she draws some kind of rune in the air and Aitami just, appeared, don't really know what happened because it was nearly instantaneous.
"Suragi, where are we? How did we get here?" She asked, looking around the cave, she eventually spotted Karin, and immediately stood up and pulled out her sword.
"Who are you, and why are we here," she demanded very threateningly, "I am Karin, and you are in my domain, Mt. Yami," she answered.
"Wait, I thought this place was called Mt. Echidna, or am I mistaken," I asked curiously, "well, no it is, but before, when only I lived here, it was called Mt. Yami," she replied.
"I'm guessing it was renamed when it became monster infested," I assumed, "yes, a long time ago, people drove the monsters here, in fear that they would rise against them, so now this is our home, and we protect it."
"Wait, do you you two know each other?" She asked with her sword still at the ready, "yes, we do, you can put your sword down,"
She glared at me then at Karin then back at me, "fine, but there better be some explanations," she lowered her blade, "you got it, as soon as I get explanations."
"So why kidnap Aitami? And why show me my past?" Were my main two questions.
"Okay to answer your first question, it was to lure you here, you probably wouldn't have come if I just left a note, and second so that you would get over it, you can't change the past, so there's no use dwelling on it."
"Well a simple note would have sufficed, I'm very curious in nature, well, most of the time," I told Karin.
"Oh really? Okay I'll make note of that for the next time I need to see you," she replied, "or, you could just come with us," I suggested.
"*Gasp* Really!!??!?!?" "Sure, why not?" I assured her, "YAAAAYYYYY!!!!! I'm going on an adventure!!!" She yelled with excitement.
"Now wait a minute, you're just gonna let her come with us without talking to me at all?" Aitami interjected.
"I'm sorry. Are you okay with her coming with us?" I asked, "fine," was her grumpy answer.
I pulled out a piece of paper and set it on a nearby rock, "Okay, let me just. . . ." I then wrote her name on the paper, "there, now you're a part of our party." And I put the paper back in [VORTEX INVENTORY].
"Awesome! Then what are we waiting for? let's go!" Karin exclaimed cheerfully, "alright, alright, let's go," then we headed out the tunnel and into the bright morning light.
"Man, I must've been out for a while," I stated, "yeah, not as long as you'd think, but a while," Karin told me.
"Well, better get moving, we'll want to get back before noon so that we can get lunch, I'm starved," I said, "me too," Karin added, "me three," Aitami said.
With all of us in agreement we headed back to the city, where we'd get lunch, pick up our stuff and get going to the next town.
