Chapter 15 A Whole Lot Of Surprises

"HELP!!!" I heard in the distance, but before I could react my body moved. I rushed to the voice to find that a young woman was having her purse stolen by a brute who pushed her into the road as a car, going too fast to stop, was racing toward her. My mind told me not to move but my body acted on its own, forcing me to rush over and push her out of the way, but in the process, killing me.

I jolted awake, realizing it was only a dream and that I was in some sort of cell, and the worst thing is I can't remember how I got here. Oh wait I remember now, those guards saw me and shot with some kind of sleep dart to immobilize me, and now I have no idea where I am, great.

A few minutes later a guard came to my cell, "get up, it's time," he told me, "time for what?" I asked, but there was no reply. I was tied up with ropes that I tried breaking, but they seemed to be enchanted or something cause they wouldn't even stretch.

After a LONG flight of stairs up from the dungeon or whatever, we walked down a few different hallways with some important looking people in paintings on the walls.

We finally made it to a big open area within the building and there on a throne was a man wearing a crown, with, from what I can see, 7 or 8 guards, not including the ones that brought me here.

For a while he just sat there staring at me, inspecting me almost, so I finally decided to speak up, "um, hi, you see I have a question, well two really, where am I, and why am I here?"

That seemed to get his attention, "I am King Alex, and you are in diren castle, and you're here because I suspect you of causing a massive explosion outside city limits, and I want to know if it was you? Why? And why I shouldn't throw you back in the dungeon for endangering civilian lives with said explosion?"

"Yes it was me, I did it to protect myself, and you'd never get me back down there," I decided to use attitude for my answer, "I will not tolerate such disrespect, take him away"

The guards were about to grab me, so I quickly summoned a knife, cut the rope and backflipped away. But now all the guards were after me, so I made a plan.

"[BLACK HOLE OBLITERATION]" I chanted, "this is the same thing that caused the explosion outside of the city," I said holding up the small black ball, "and if you want to keep your castle I recommend you leave me alone," I said while increasing its size to get my point across.

"Fine! Fine, just put that thing away, and I'll leave you be," he decided, "good, I'll be taking my leave now," With that I left.

When I got outside recognized my enemy's from before and readied myself for an attack Hikari and Sozo rushed forward and tried to kick from both sides, but I grabbed their feet, and that's when Saigo punched me in the face.

I was sent flying backward and my left cheek hurt, "ow." I said nonchalantly, "by the way, what did I ever do to you guys to make you so mad?"

"I- uh... That's not your business!" Sozo answered, "well you're trying to kill me so it really is my business," I answered trying to buy some time, "fine, it's because your a possible threat we can't risk leaving alone, a one-man army who hasn't picked a side, and that's why we're going to stop this problem before it becomes a bigger one,"

"Your logic is pretty good, but, you forgot that instead of fighting me, and making me your enemy, you could've befriended me and tried leading me to the path of good. And that's where you went wrong,"

They all looked like they were thinking about what I said, which is good because now I can escape using this spell I created, "[WARP]" I chanted, causing me to be enveloped with black smoke. When the smoke dispersed I was gone.

When I reappeared I was back at the inn, one problem, "crap! I'm in Aitami's room!" I realized, so I quickly used the spell again, and was finally in my room, "that was close, I wonder where Aitami is, we need to go before they find me again." 

"Who finds you?" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I was startled by the random voice and screamed, "sorry, didn't mean to scare you," it was Aitami, though I don't know what she was doing in my closet.

"Aitami, may I ask what you were doing in my closet?" I asked with a concerned tone, "well, I was waiting to throw a surprise party for you, but I didn't hear you come in and then my curiosity got the best of me when I overheard you, and then I ruined it."

She then tugged on a rope and confetti and balloons fell from the ceiling, there was even a cake that was lowered down onto the table that was set up in the center of the room, by some sort of rope mechanism.

"Awe, well thank you, it's been awhile since someone's cared enough to do something like this for me," I thanked her, "what do you mean? Don't you have family in your old world?"

"No, well yes, but. It's complicated, besides, we have more important things to do, like not letting this cake go to waste," I tried to change the subject and, luckily, it worked, because my past is a wound I'd rather not open.

As we ate the cake, I informed Aitami about everything that happened, the gods, the king, the gods again, "and that's why need to get moving before they find me again," I finished, "I see," she said before taking the last bite of her slice, "so what do we do, Suragi."
