"Who the hell are you?"
I was taken back by his harsh tone, it was such a contrast to his angelically light skin and blistering oceanic eyes.
"I don't think that matters. All that matters is that you turn down that ridiculous music and stop the slamming noise or whatever the hell it is.."
My rant was cut off by his mocking chuckle.
"Ah, should've known you've never been to a party, with the way you're dressed," his disapproving eyes glanced me up and down under his thick lashes and he chucked again. Slight redness stormed my cheeks.
Not from embarrassment, from pure anger.
"Actually, I'd be careful before you make any assumptions about me, you dumb prick. Just turn down the damn music so I can get some work done or
I'm calling security,"He swept the chocolate hair from his face and his laugh deepened.
"There's a lot of things I enjoy about that statement, red."
He must've picked up on the flaming of my face
"I like how you assume that security in this shit hole would actually make their way up here to tell me to "keep it down", because even I know they could give a fuck."
After taking a step back into the room littered with bottles and sweaty people dancing to the blasting music, he continued,
"I also like that you, unlike any other person at the age of 15, is going work on a Saturday night." He mocked me, his eyes glaring right into mine with a deep smirk on his face.
Unlike other girls my age, I was able to look right past physical appearance. It was not to be stumped over. Just because this immature asshole had the looks of a God, I wasn't just going to give in and let him have his way without a fight. There was no way in hell he was winning this
"It's hilarious how YOU'RE the one accusing me of being fifteen when you have the level of maturity of a twelve year old. I came over here to tell you to just shut up a little bit so I could work on my college application so I can possibly have a shot at a successful future. Yet, you're too stubborn and inconsiderate to even think about it. Here you are, throwing some loud fucking party with daddy's money,"
I shot a finger in the direction of the the apartment infiltrated with the smell of beer and girls with minimal clothing.
"Not all of us are just handed everything, some people actually have to work for things. And by the way you judged me for it, I'm gonna go ahead and say you're a spoiled little conceded piece of shit who doesn't think about anyone but himself."
My lungs searched for a deep breath as the remainder of my words spit out.
The whiteness of my clenched knuckles reminded me how worked up I had become and how long it had been since I argued with someone.
His face had remained neutral. The outline of his jaw had tightened slightly, but his eyes remained cold and set on me. The tall frame of his figure shifted slightly in the door, but his icy glare stayed firmly locked into my brown eyes.
"I've got to say, Red, I didn't see that coming from a little girl like you," his low, merciless tone sent a shiver down my spine.
"I don't think I've ever heard a fourteen year old bitch talk to me like that before. It's pretty amusing, actually"
The grin on his face returned and I fought the pulsating urge to slap it off.
"What an original joke, bravo." I sarcastically referred to his failed attempt to mock my height by saying I was much younger then I actually was.
"I think I've had enough of you for a lifetime." He scowled, recognizing our mutual hatred.
"That being said, I've taken our conversation into mind and decided that I'm just going to keep the music as is because this is my room and I can do what I want. I dare you to stop me, Red."
Towards the end of his statement, a girl with golden skin and jet black hair appeared alongside the stubborn asshole and grabbed his bicep. She was much prettier then blondie, probably his girlfriend. I almost felt bad for her, but by the way she shot me a killer look, I decided she was probably just as awful as he was.
Before I could blink, he slammed the door in my face without another word.
My breathing slowed considerably as I realized the infuriating dick was no longer standing in front of me. My fists unclenched and I tucked a few strands of dirty blonde hair behind my ear while deciding what to do.
Slight frustration rose inside of me as I realized that I had broken my promise to not let him win. My lack of a competitive nature made it easy to get over, though. It was a quality I used to obtain but had lost after she left.
My subconscious decided that I was too exhausted to rekindle the burning flame with my frustrating neighbor, and that it would be saved for another day.
"I dare you to stop me, Red," the words played over in my head, matching his exact voice.
Some people would assume that he called me "Red" as a way to flirt, but they would be far from the truth. He was using it to weaken and taunt me as if I were actually a child.
Game on. I wasn't one to turn down a dare.
