In the distance, (M/N) saw a beautiful and blossoming garden, just flourishing and flowering with white roses. However, (M/N) was forewarned and forbidden from ever going there, but he was curious and couldn't resist. So, (M/N) secretly and silently snuck away, as he was knowledgeable and knew shortcuts that others weren't aware of. "Wow!" (M/N) gasped, his (E/C) eyes widening in surprise, when he saw a boy around his age who was crying and clutching a dagger. "Are you okay? Did something happen to you? How about we be friends? It's because friends help each other. So, I'm (M/N) (L/N)."
Unfortunately, (M/N) didn't get a response or reply, except more sobbing and sniffling. Without hesitation, (M/N) carefully and cautiously hugged him, though the gesture wasn't returned and reciprocated. Even so, (M/N) wouldn't leave or let go of him, considering he was taught to be caring and compassionate of others. "I-I'm Subaru Sakamaki. I don't mind being friends, but you really shouldn't be here," Subaru mumbled, looking up, at the tall tower where a woman was peering down at them. "I-It's not safe for you here."
Nevertheless, (M/N)'s wings flickered and fluttered behind him, the thought that they were now friends was overwhelming and overpowering. Instantly, (M/N) was flying and flitting into the air, his new friend yelping and yanking him back down onto the ground. Therefore, (M/N) was firmly and forcefully rooted in his spot, as him and his friend were holding hands. "Is she your mom?" (M/N) asked, cheeks flushing, heart pounding once the grip on his hand tightened and tensed. "She's really pretty, like the roses."
Suddenly, (M/N)'s ears piped and perked up, when the dagger his friend was holding clinked and clattered onto the cobblestone pathway. Then, (M/N) watched him crouch and collect a rose, that was soon pushed and pried into his hands. But, (M/N) couldn't even say or spit out a thank you, not before the boy sprinted and scurried home. "I didn't know some roses came without thorns," Subaru spluttered, head bowed, facial expression unreadable. "I-I'll see you later, (M/N)."
