Chapter 13: The Confrontation

Frost kept a full ten-foot distance away from Holly, or, at least she tried too. It was Holly's personal mission, to annoy the fuck out of Frost. Frost covered her ears but, Holly the master of yelling got through to her anyways. Frost usually loved children, she loved Holly and made an oath to protect her, but all of this teasing put her on edge. 

"Miss! Miss! Miss! Miss! You now have a boyfriend, thank me later!" Holly yelled poking her shoulder. 

"Holly, please listen to me, if you mention boyfriend again I will personally throw you out to the vultures," Frost said crouching down to Holly's eye level. Sam stumbled when he heard this. Baron stopped dead in his tracks. No one cares to speak, except Holly. 

"You will still thank me!" Holly yelled poking Frost's nose. "Oh, also I need to ask you something! What's a vulture?"

"It is a bird now please, shut up," Frost said walking away. Holly ran back over to Sam to annoy him. 

"So how are you?" Holly asked giving a worried look. 

"Fine. Why?" Sam asked giving a questionable look. 

"Cause you got a headache and that is worrying!" 

"No, it isn't. It is just a headache. Not that big of a deal to me." Sam said smiling, he was glad Holly wasn't being super annoying. Holly gave another sly smile and climbed onto Baron. 

"So, can we talk about Frost for a minute?" Holly asked. 

"Nope!" Sam said running a bit faster. Holly tapped Baron and he walked a bit faster, catching up to Sam.

"Why not Mister Sam? Is there a problem?" Holly asked giving a small smile. 

"No problem, just kinda tired and not wanting to speak about certain things and situations. So can you, shut up, please?" Sam asked giving a smile. 

"First tell me something, are you really okay?" 

"What the fudge does that mean?" 

"You have had boulders almost kill you, a gash so deep you had to be hospitalized, and girl problems! You live a very hard life not gonna lie." 

"Yeah, and you're an annoying kid."

"I know. Annoyingness runs through my veins!" 

"Annoyingness. That is not even a word Holly." Sam said giving a small laugh. Holly smiled and laughed. She looked behind her shoulder and saw a pair of eyes running at Sam. 

"MISTER SAM BEHIND YOU!" Holly yelled causing Baron to run away. Sam turned around and was shoved to the floor. Kaleb ran past him and Frost and disappeared into the snow. 

"Ugh, what the fuck!" Frost said helping Sam up. Sam turned and ran right after Kaleb, using the black liquid to propel himself forward. The snow fell harder and the sky turned gray. The pouring snow made it hard to see Kaleb, but Sam kept running.  He kept an eye out for glowing eyes and ran faster. He used the liquid to pick him up and fling him forward in the direction where Kaleb was last seen. Right when Kaleb thought it was a good time to stop and catch his breath, Sam was thrown against Kaleb slamming him against the snow. 

"Oww. What happened?" Kaleb asked rubbing his head. 

"You tell me, you shoved me down for absolutely no reason and followed us for I don't even know how many days!" Sam asked glaring at Kaleb. 

"How the heck did you know I was following you. You have no proof!" 

"Uh, the random pair of glowing eyes that I kept seeing, and those same pair shoving me down!" 

"Well, that could have been any pair of floating eyeballs. Now get out of my way, I got some things to do!" 

"What things! Challenge me to a duel out of anger? Try to kill me by attacking the spot that we easily vulnerable to? Or try to get the three mages to accept you as some bullshit, 'chosen ones' and do whatever the hell you want to?" Sam glared at Kaleb. Kaleb looked at him with a look that could freeze hell over. 

"You stole my opportunity to defeat D.P. and you expect me to lay low and just let you! I think not!" Kaleb yelled clenching the ground with one of his hands. 

"What opportunity! This isn't like running for president this was predetermined. That is not my fault! I assumed you were smart enough to understand that!" Sam said getting up off the snowy ground. Kaleb glared at him while Sam looked around. Baron ran right at Sam tackling him with Holly and Frost on top. 

"Thank gosh Mister Sam! We were so scared!" Holly said dropping down onto the snow. "We thought we would come back to another fight!" 

"I can see why," Sam said watching Kaleb stand up. Frost dropped down walked up to Sam. Sam turned around and Frost pushed him down. 

"Don't you ever do that again! We don't want you to get hospitalized again!" Frost said while helping him up. 

"Duly noted," Sam said smiling. He turned around and bumped into Kaleb who was glaring at him. 

"Mind moving?" Sam asked crossing his arms. Kaleb raised his arm and bitch slapped Sam, leaving a red mark.*

"You wouldn't say all that crap if you were smart enough to place yourself in my perspective!" Kaleb said backing away a teensy bit. 

"Duly noted again!" Sam said glaring at him. "Come on guys, let's go!"

"Alright, Mister Sam!" Holly said while climbing on Baron. Sam and Frost climbed on and Baron began to run following the sparkles. Looking back Sam could see a shivering Kaleb, running off in another direction.
