Vanessa
Martín had driven up a hill and after about half an hour, we had reached the top where he could park and just look at Miami. "I've never been up here before." I mumbled, stuffing my mouth with chips as we both sat on the hood of his truck."Eres la única que I brought up here."
I turned to look at Martín and after unintentionally smiling, I turned away to look back at the view of nightlife Miami. "Pues es muy bonita."
"Tú también."
I turned back to look at him to already see him smiling at me. "Me estás haciendo sonrojar."
Martín kept smiling and eating before reaching into his pocket and pulling out his phone. "Estamos amigos, verdad?"
"Did you just friend-zone me?"
"Only for now." He said as he grabbed my hand. He then gave me a look, as if re-asking his question, so I nodded my head. "Mira. Necesito decirte algo."
Martín started to type something into his phone and I just swung my legs as I waited for him to be ready. It only took a few seconds, so when he stuck his phone out, I saw that he was on YouTube and wanted to show me a video.
"What's good everybody we are..."
"CNCO."
The second the video started, I recognized the familiar faces and instantly grew confused. "Wait is that-"
"Keep watching."
The video ended, and the whole time I've been confused. So, that's what I told Martín, who I guess is actually Zabdiel. "Is this your way of telling me that you've been lying to me the whole time?"
I could hear that he was stuttering, without having to look at him, before he just sighed. "Yeah. Me llamo Zabdiel." He reintroduced himself. "Not everything fue una mentira."
"And how am I supoosed to know that? You've been lying to me since the night we met."
"Pues, podemos reiniciar." Mar- Zabdiel suggested. "The only lies were mi nombre y que voy a escuela. Te lo prometo, Nessa."
"Can you take me home?"

After the confession, Mar-Zabdiel and I got into his truck to head back to my apartment. The majority of the ride, I was staring out the window because I knew if I looked at him, I would either slap him or give in. I'm a little too confused about how I feel about ebay I now know to do either.
Did I understand why he lied? A little. Like if I was a celebrity, I'd probably want to take in any and all privacy and normality I was given. Did I appreciate all the lying that our bond was basically built on? Not at all. "I still don't get why you did it."
Without looking, I could sense that he had glanced over to me before he looked back at the road to continue speaking. "It was just- it felt nice knowing that someone didn't know about my life. In my last relationships, they knew about CNCO y eso era todo lo que les importaba. Era tóxica and I didn't want that again." He explained. "Mira, I didn't expect us to get close like we did and I was planning to tell you sooner, pero no quería arruinarnos. Nessa, me gustas mucho, pero entiendo si ya no te gusto."
I turned away from staring out the window to look at the man beside me in the driver seat. "Why would I not like you?"
Coincidentally, we ended up at a stop light so Martín turned to me with a look of pure confusion. "I thought you hated me for lying?"
With a short sigh, I shifted my body so my legs were in the seat and folded underneath me and I was facing him. "I'm mad and disappointed you lied, but I still like you. I don't hate you."
Zabdiel mumbled a quiet 'oh' and started driving when the light became green and illuminated both of our faces. "Estás segura? Pues, puedo comprar helado para ti?"
"Is that a rhetorical question?"
"Rhet- qué es esto?"
I sighed and shook my head as I pat his forearm. "Nada. Just drive to the ice cream."
