Elsa's POV
He was sitting across the room from me, both of us in fold-out chairs. Why were we just staring at each other? I didn't move, neither did he.
Everything was completely still...
"Come on, Elsa. You know you can come over here," he smirked. I shook my head 'no'. Something was holding me back...I knew there was something in between us, but I don't know what.
"I'm protecting you, Jack. Please. Just let me stay here."
He gave me a small smile. "Well, if you won't come over here, then I'll go over there," Jack gave a slight laugh. Of course. Like I didn't expect this. "Stop," I whispered. He couldn't hear me.
Suddenly I saw it. A huge transparent wall. It resembled waves lapping the ocean, the barricade slowly moving side to side. Jack can't go through that! Something might happen!
"JACK, NO!" I yelled, almost crying. He stepped through the wall. His body stopped, nothing moving.
Suddenly I felt an emptiness inside of me. His eyes closed slowly. No no no no no. This can't be happening! The tears building up in my eyes stung. It's like they have a mind of their own. Like a river, the water charged downstream.
All hope seemed lost. But then Jack began shifting slowly.
He stumbled onto the other side. "Whew. Kind of a work out," Jack said, brushing off his outfit.
"Oh my God," I whimpered. He outstretched his arms, and I gladly accepted his embrace.
It all happened in less than half a minute, yet it seemed like forever. Jack's white hair tickled my cheek as I buried my head in his chest.
"I'm sorry. I just couldn't be separated from my best friend," he smirked. I looked at him, "BEST friend?"
"Yeah. You've been there for me when no one else has, and you DEFINITELY know more secrets than Hiccup and the others."
My cheeks flushed with red.
Best friend, huh? I'm not sure how to react to this. Rapunzel and Anna always end up excluding me somehow whenever we hang out.
"You're my best friend, too, Jack."
Our hug tightened. For many minutes we only stood, swaying back and forth in each other's arms.
"So it is true," someone said sadly, "You guys DO do this a lot. In my opinion, this is something couples do, not "friends"."
Who was behind us? Oh crap.
"Rapunzel, listen to me," Jack said, "Both of us have gone through a hard time. No one else would understand."
Not Rapunzel.
She scoffed, "Ya. Sure."
Suddenly I felt a stabbing at my back, "You betrayed me, Elsa," Rapunzel spat. I shrieked in pain. Something was poking out the front of my chest. A sword.
An ICE sword.
She had stabbed me.
Blood spilled all over. As the fluid drained, so did the pain...and my vision...
Everything was becoming so dark.
"Elsa!" Jack yelled. My hearing was the first to go. It slowly dulled, his shouts becoming more and more muffled to the point where I couldn't hear anything but my heartbeat, signaling death was slowly approaching.
Jack punched Rapunzel in the jaw, then kicked her in the gut, knocking her to the cold cement ground. He finished off his blows with a stomp on the face. Blood poured from her nose onto the floor, alongside mine.
This was too much, too fast.
"Jack, please stop," I whispered. He stopped, realizing what he had done. Jack fell on his knees, trying to keep his composure, but failed miserably. He took long, shaky breaths. I reached my hand and rested it gently on his cheek.
My eyes closed. And my last sight was Jack's pale face red with tears.

I slowly regained my vision.
"Elsa..." I heard a faint shout, barely audible, "ELSA!" I could hear everything now. Anna was shaking me in my bed, "It's 7:45! School starts at 8!"
I rubbed my eyes. "You go. I'll get ready," I said groggily. She nodded. "Try not to be late," she smiled.
I heard the living room door slam shut. I really don't want to go to school today. My head rested against my pillow. Slowly I was engulfed in my thoughts, thinking about the nightmare I had just witnessed, but they were disrupted when I heard my phone beeping at me.
Someone was calling.
Jack.
I answered. "You aren't going to school either?" he asked.
"You guessed it. I'm still in shock from everything that's happened."
"Ya. Me, too."
Should I tell him about my nightmare? Jack may be able to help. But what if it stresses him out? Heaven knows what happened last time. Sheesh. I'm not going to mention it...nope.
But I did anyways.
"And I had a strange dream last night."
There was silence.
"Come over to my house. Right now."
Now?
"Um...okay..."
I heard him breathing heavily across the other line.
Does he think my dream means something? Not every nightmare can mean possible chaos. And besides, my powers didn't lose control. Jack's did.
"Is something going on?" I questioned. He inhaled slightly, "Nah. I just need to show you something."
Then the line beeped, signaling that he had hung up. It's like I could sense Jack was lying. Something was wrong.
I didn't bother to dress up, just a pair of raggedy jeans and a green t-shirt. Anna was going to kill me for skipping school.
Oh well.
As I was walking, I noticed something I hadn't before: ice. It had slipped my mind that it wasn't going to be me and Jack causing the cold for awhile.
I don't understand why some people don't like winter. It's the most beautiful thing I have ever seen- the silvers, the blues, the whites. What does summer bring you? Heat waves and sweat. Yuck.
Just as I expected, Jack was waiting on the front steps of his house. He had his hands in his white hair, revealing his Widow's Peak.
"Okay, Frostbutt. Time to end this now. What's going on?" I crossed my arms, my hip popping to the side. He looked up at me and combed his hair back down.
"Follow me," Jack said. He dashed down the road, to the abandoned field. It only took us around a minute to get there.
"Elsa...what was your dream about?" Jack questioned.
What was wrong with him today? "Well," I began, "You were there...we were separated by some sort of barrier thing. You didn't see it, but I did. And-" Jack then cut
me off, "And I was stuck, but then I managed to pull through..."
What? "H-how did you know that?" I stepped back with fear. Jack pinched between his eyebrows, trying to absorb everything.
"Because I was there, too," he sighed.
"What are you talking about?!"
"Somehow our dreams can connect..."
"No. That's impossible."
"Well if it's so impossible, then how do I know that Rapunzel stabbed you in the back with an ice sword?"
I gasped. Jack was telling the truth. But I don't understand. How could this happen? Looks like we have our next assignment...
"Okay, so you aren't lying...but it still seems impossible," I said, "The only connection we have is our ice powers, so it must have something to do with that." Jack nodded in agreement.
Jack and I stayed in the field for an hour or two, trying to find some reasoning in why our dreams somehow reached each other. Both of our worlds have become a lot more interesting (more interesting than it already was). Eventually we gave up for the day, discussing other things to take the whole situation off our minds.
"So, how big is this field exactly?" I asked Jack. He began counting on his fingers, mouthing the numbers as her did. "Around 70 acres," he said matter-o'-factly. I found this very hard to believe, but the size said otherwise. "Why doesn't anyone claim it? Seems perfectly fine to me." Jack continued explaining, "Well, the field is barren, so it can't grow any more crops. No one has decided to build a store or anything, mainly because it's at the edge of town where practically no one goes, and the ground is too hard to dig through. It's frozen all year around because...well, you know."
I nodded. "Well I guess that's a good thing. Arendelle at least needs one piece of land
that isn't used for buildings."
Our city, Arendelle, is almost a fun-sized version of New York. There is practically only a few pieces of land that haven't been taken over by hotels, apartments, bars (that kind of stuff). On the outskirts of town, all the acreage is used for more houses or agriculture. This field was practically the last untouched piece of land.
"Hey, Jack?" I asked him. "Yeah?" he replied.
"Wanna try something fun?"
"This isn't another prank is it? I still have marks from last time..." Jack whined, rubbing his arm.
I smirked, "No. This will actually be fun." I pulled him up from his sitting position. He dusted off his jeans and prepared for the worst. "C'mon you baby," I teased him, "I already told you this isn't a prank." Jack was still tensed up, "That's what you said before."
Point taken.
I stomped my foot on the ground, covering a portion of the field with a clean, thick sheet of ice. "I hope you know how to ice skate," I giggled, forming blades underneath our shoes.
"Not really," Jack said. "Well neither do I," I smiled, grabbing Jack's wrist. We both stumbled on our skates, almost falling over. "Jeez. You don't need to rush everything, Elsa," he laughed, "One of these days you'll be speeding on the highway and get hit by a car." I frowned at him, "Ha-ha. Very funny... That stuff actually happens, Jack. I wouldn't be joking about it." He looked at me with confusion, "Since when do you care about that?" I pushed him playfully, knocking him over.
We both laughed. It was nice to forget about the stressful things for once, but it wouldn't be long before it all came rushing back.

Jack's POV
Elsa started sitting with me and my friends at lunch. Anna caught the flu and couldn't come to school, and Rapunzel was still in the hospital.
Surprisingly, everyone really liked Elsa. They had finally accepted the fact that she was just like them, not ignorant or selfish.
"So, Elsa, where's the rest of your possé?" Merida asked jokingly. Elsa smoothed her hair back, "Well, Rapunzel is still being treated in the ER, and Anna has the flu." All of them looked at her with pity. "Oh...I'm sorry I asked," Merida looked down with shame, "Feel free to sit with us whenever, okay?"
Elsa had that look, the look where she doesn't want anyone to feel sorry for her. Everyone was now dead silent. It was instantly awkward. "I wouldn't stress too much about it," Elsa said, "They'll be better soon enough."
Astrid instantly spoke up, "That's good. They can join us, too, when they come back. After all, I'm sure Rapunzel would love to sit by her boyfriend."
Elsa chuckled. I turned red and scowled at everyone. "Oh c'mon, Jack," she nudged my shoulder, "It's not that embarrassing."
My face was redder than Merida's hair. "Shut up," I snapped. Before I knew it, my foot was frozen to the ground.
Erg. Elsa...
"What was that for?" I yell-whispered, "What if someone catches you?" Slowly I broke my foot away from the ice.
"Hakuna your tatas, Jack. It'll be fine." Elsa gave me a small smile, reassuring she was being careful. I exhaled, trying to get rid of the stress I've been feeling.
Too much has been going on. My girlfriend is in the ER, my best friend and I have some sort of mental connection, and I'm bring chased by terrorists, the most-wanted terrorists in the entire world.
Just another ordinary day in the life of Jack Frost.(A/N: Hey guys! Just an FYI, I haven't used any ideas from my recent post. That will be open for awhile. Try to keep it up to date (if you will). Sorry for the boring chapter. I'm running out of ideas.
On another note, Thanksgiving break is next weekend! That means more time to write. I really need to pick up the pace with this story. Jack and Elsa are only Freshman, and the story goes all the way till (briefly) after Senior year. I already have the ending written. Trust me. There is lots in store.
One last thing. Some of you keep asking why Elsa's hair is brown in my book cover. It'll make a lot more sense at the end of the story. It has something to do with her powers.
Does she lose them? Does she give them up for the safety of others? Based on emotions maybe? (Actually none of those are correct. 😂) Until next time. ✌️)
