Elsa's POV
I had my hands on Jack's shoulders, trying to stop him from shaking. He was EXTREMELY nervous, but who can blame him? I would be, too, if I was asking someone to the Homecoming dance. Jack wasn't the only one with nerves today. I somehow have to figure out how to use my powers without everyone seeing, or otherwise my job is gone...and many other consequences to follow.
"Now listen, Jack. Remember. Rapunzel REALLY likes you, so she will say yes. Just play it cool, and everything will be fine," I spoke calmly, whispering into his ear. He looked back at me and nodded his head. "Now go get her, Romeo." I shoved him away. Okay...where to hide: the janitor's closet, inside the bathroom, or the trash can....
Just my luck. The only place I can see is in the trash can...
"Gross..." I whispered. I lifted up my right leg first. I stepped on something squishy. I covered my mouth, gagging. Jack turned around and saw me. He was laughing to himself. I looked around to see if anyone else was watching. They weren't. I shot ice at his butt. "Ow!" he yelped. "Frostbutt's got a boo-boo." I chuckled. He wiped off his pants and gave me a death glare. That'll teach him.
I tucked my left leg in and sunk to the bottom of the trash. I fastened the lid on afterwards. A shard of ice formed in my hand. I carved a small hole, not even as big as my eye. Now all we have to do is wait for Rapunzel.
It only took a minute or so until she showed up. Okay, Jack. Don't fail me now.
She saw Jack, and immediately her face turned red. Rapunzel casually walked past him and headed to her locker. He leaned up against the wall.
"Hey," he said flirtatiously. She stopped in her tracks, "Are-are you talking t-to me?" Rapunzel twirled a piece of her blond hair. Jack smiled at her with his pearly-white teeth, looking down nervously, "Ya. Who else would I be talking to?" His cheeks turned a light shade of pink. "Oh.." she said surprised, "Why not talk to Elsa? She's all cool and confident and desirable...and then there's me." Rapunzel began walking away. Ugh.
"If you want a boyfriend, Punzie, you can't push them away," I said to myself.
Jack grabbed her hand and spun her around so they were facing each other, "Elsa may be ALL of those things," he began. I blushed. My cheeks were red hot. "But there's one thing she will never manage to be." So much for the compliment...
"And what's that?" she said. Jack tucked a piece of Rapunzel's hair behind her ear. "You." He kissed her cheek slowly.
"So far so good," I whispered, "Keep it up, Jack..."
He grabbed her hand, them both entwining their fingers. I had a small smile on my face. They were perfect together.
Jack grabbed her other hand, "I really like you Rapunzel..." She smiled at him, "I like you, too, Jack." They pressed their foreheads together, just like we did last night when I discovered Jack's secret. "And it got me to thinking," he whispered just loud enough so I could hear.
Now it's my turn.
I formed Snowbelle flowers all over the ceiling. Their creamy-blue petals opened slowly. Instead of pollen, their was frost and snow. Then I formed ice bells over the doors to the classroom. They made a beautiful tune.
"May I have the honor of taking you to the Homecoming Dance this weekend?" Rapunzel looked around in amazement, then wrapped her arms around Jack's neck, "Of course." He kissed her on the cheek and they tightly embraced. Everyone applauded.
"Nice work, Frostbutt," I whispered, smiling to myself.
The bell rang. Everyone ran to their classes, including Rapunzel.
Jack ran over to the trash can and helped me out. My hair was all staticky. "You owe me one. I didn't realised climbing in the trash can was part of the deal," I said laughing, smoothing back my hair.
Jack hugged me, and I hugged him back, "Thanks, Elsa. I really appreciate it." I nodded at him. "I have to say, the flowers were a really nice touch. I thought you could only form stuff from ice and snow!" he said.
"I invented the Snowbelle flowers. It took awhile to figure out how to make them realistic," I said proudly. He looked up at them and gave a slight laugh. "And now for that favor you owe me. You are going to clean this up, with your powers."
His pink cheeks were now pale again. Jack shook his head furiously, "Elsa, you KNOW why I can't do that!" I sighed and clasped both of my hands around his, "Please. I want to see you in action. Just this once." He looked at me, then at the ice, "No. I promised my parents. I'm sorry, Elsa." Jack tugged his hands away. He walked down the hall, leaving me all alone in the cold. "You're a coward! A day will come when you'll HAVE to use your powers!" I yelled furiously at him, my voice cracking. He came back.
I shouldn't have said that. Why did I say that? There was a huge pit in my stomach.
Jack turned around. "You don't know the full reason why I don't use them. Can't you just respect that?" he whispered with no emotion.
"You don't use them so you're safer. I understand that. But I use them all the time for you, and you won't do it once for me! What does that tell you?"
Jack ran his fingers through his hair, sighing. I feel really bad now.
"Elsa, you make your own decisions. I don't force you to do anything. You need to stop pressuring me to do something I'm not comfortable with!" Jack's voice was getting louder.
Please just make this stop... Walk away, Elsa. Just walk away...
But I couldn't. "Who says I don't feel pressure, too? You aren't the victim here."
It was like I had no control over myself. Maybe because I didn't. My words were overpowering me. I couldn't stop until he gave up. I wanted to, I really wanted to... What's happening to me?
"Well you aren't either! You're not always right about everything!" Jack was now yelling. I stomped closer to him, "STOP BEING OVERLY SENSITIVE ABOUT EVERYTHING! IT WOULD MAKE MY LIFE SO MUCH EASIER."
Jack took a step forward, "I'M NOT OVERLY SENSITIVE! YOU START ALL OF OUR ARGUMENTS! YOU THINK THE WHOLE SITUATION IS ABOUT YOU. YOU, YOU, YOU! NOT ANYONE ELSE! MAYBE THIS IS WHY YOUR ONLY FRIEND IS YOUR SISTER!"
His words stung like venom, but I deserved it. I was now realizing the curse of my powers. It made you go out of control. Despite the yelling, everything seemed to get quieter, and quieter, and quieter to the point where I didn't even know what I was saying.
My ears were ringing. Jack looked furious. It's alright. He has the right to be. He has the right to do whatever. Jack shouldn't have to use his powers if he doesn't want to. Why was I still fighting back? I wasn't. My powers were.
Please. This needs to stop. My words were echoing through my head. Jack couldn't hear what I was really trying to say.
"Rapunzel is my friend, too," I said quietly. "She won't be for long if you keep acting like a brat!" Jack snapped at me. I was so dizzy. My vision was blurry.
"You know what Elsa. Don't even bother. We're not friends...we'll never be..."
I was screaming, but no one else knew it. "Stop! Jack wait!" I yelled, but he didn't bother to look. He was ignoring me. No, he couldn't hear me. I don't understand. Why was this happening? These weren't my words!
"Stop, Jack..." I whispered faintly. Finally he heard me. I collapsed to the floor. The last thing I saw was him looking at me, then walking away, leaving me alone in the hallway. And then it was black.
~ ~ ~ ~
I woke up, still alone in the halls. I looked at the clock. Thirty minutes had passed. "Crap. I'm definitely late now..." I tried pushing myself up, but there was a sharp pain in my temple. My sides ached.
Maybe I should just go home...I'll tell Anna I got sick...
I definitely felt sick...
"Jack?" I called out quietly. Jack's not here. He's in class...
I stumbled home. My stomach burned.
Jack left me there. He didn't even try to help me. "What a jerk..." I whispered. No. He wasn't a jerk. I was a jerk. I'll try to explain what happened. Hopefully he'll hear me out.
I'll call him after school. Maybe that is the other reason he doesn't use his powers. They have a mind of their own. I remembered yesterday when I went to comfort him. It was the most scared I've ever seen him. He didn't want them to take him over.
"That's why..." I whispered. This whole experience ruined everything for me. This gift isn't such a gift after all. I wanted it gone.
But it would never leave.
I opened the door and shut it carefully.I don't want to damage anything else today.
(A/N: Heya! Yep. More drama. Jelsa is so far away....for now. 😝 Just to clear things up, NO, She wasn't possessed. Jack and Elsa's powers will sometimes take them over if they feel too much emotion. Hence the gift becomes a curse. This chapter was awfully short, yet it took me three hours to write it. I'll try to make the next one longer. You'll finally get an idea of what Elsa's job is, and the Homecoming dance will take place. I am introducing a new character from Disney as well.
For those of you who ship Jelsa, me included, stay strong. Jackunzel will be happening for awhile...gotta keep the story dragging on. I don't want everything to be short and sweet. Okay? Okay.
I'll start writing the new chapter soon!
