David awoke again in the woods pain shot through his chest. He suddenly remebers the woman with the axe and lifts his shirt. No markings, cuts, or bruises. He could feel a sharp pain where he had broken his arm and where the axe met his body. He laid for a minute grunting as the pain slightly went away into a numbing feeling. He sat up confused. 'What the actual fuck just happened. Did I just die?' He asked himself a throbbing headache soon set in. He looked around. It was night still. No stars. His stomach filled with anxiety. He slowly stood up walking to the glow of the campfire.
As David drew near everyone was talking about the woman with the axe. The redhead girl with braids was talking about how she throws hatchets as he stumbled into view. They all looked at him. Claudette came running grabbing hold of David and helping him to the fire. David and Claudette sat down. David was just as confused as before but he felt his stomach drop. He remembered Dwight and how his head split into two in front of him. He puts his head between his knees. Nobody bothers talking. Just sitting in silence until David decided to speak.
"Where is Dwight?" He said shaking. 'If he died and came back does that mean Dwight would' he thought to himself a bit of disbelief settling in his mind. A soft hand fell onto his back rubbing it slightly. He thought it was Claudette again like before but this felt different. More soothing. He turned his head and stood up instantly.
"I thought you fucking died!" David choked hugging Dwight who was shocked at first but settled into the hug. "I saw that bitch chop you into two" David said in a shaky voice. Letting Dwight go he realized how emotional he got and wiped his eyes.
"It's okay David you can't die here."Dwight said finally trying to comfort him. "Doesn't mean it doesnt hurt like a bitch, but you come back." He said trying to make light of the newcomers situation.
"I'm so fucking confused mate. What the fuck is happening? How did I get here?" David asked shifting uncomfortably where he stood feeling all the eyes in the area on him.
"Well I can explaine the best I can but I am not even sure David." Dwight said sadness in his tone. "First how about we introduce you officially to everyone." He stated. Everyone got up from where they sat and came around to David. The first to run up was an energetic Asian girl.
"Feng Min is the name." She leans in close to David. "I'm sorry you are here but finally we can play cards with more people. Watch out for Ace." She said with a smile. She gave him a pat on the back and turned to sit back down. Next a man in a army uniform stepped up.
"William is my name but most people just call me Bill." Bill said as he sat back down he wasn't much for words. He lit a cigarette and stared back into the fire.
"Hey I'm Nea." She extended an arm to David and gave him a firm shake. "I'm the badass so I'm sure well get alone just fine." she winked to him sitting next to Feng and started talking about the woman with the axe again.
"Jake." Said a man with gloves giving him a slight smile before sitting back down.
"I'm Meg, if ya wanna race let me know I'm still undefeated." The redhead with braids gloated giving him a wink and a wave.
"I'm Laurie, If you need someone to talk to I'm here." She said giving him a small hug and a smile before sitting by Meg. They started laughing and talking about their latest trial.
"My names Ace. Would love to play some cards with you. Need someone new to beat." He smiled while giving Feng a smug look. Feng looked him in the eye withstand a death glare and turned to David. "He's a cheating shit. I haven't figured out how he does it but he is definitely a cheater." Feng said while flipping Ace off. The man gave Feng a chuckle showing nothing was up his sleeves as he sat down. 'So that's what she meant by watch out' David laughed to himself.
Claudette and Dwight approached David together. "You met us before but nice to have you not running away from us." Claudette joked. Giving David a hug. Dwight just smiled at the man. David smiled back.
"So I am really trapped here?" David spoke softly. Claudette broke the embrace and gave him a sad smile.
"From what it seems like. I'm sorry." Claudette said in an almost motherly tone.
David returned the sad smile and hugged her again. He stepped back and looked around getting a good look at the place. The fire sat in the middle as tents were ptched nearby. He wondered if they even had one for him.
"I'm gonna take a walk and think for a bit. Dont suppose you have a place for me to sleep?" He asked knowing they probably wouldn't.
"No but you can bunk with me until we find the stuff to make you a tent." Dwight spoke up stepping closer. "Wouldn't want you to sleep in the cold." Dwight spoke softly and gave David a smile. David felt a sort of comfort. He shook it off.
"Thank you Dwight I appreciate it." David said in a thankful tone. Dwight gave him a nod before walking to see why Meg and Feng were laughing so hard.
"I'm going to scavenge for some supplies in the forest. See you when you come back from your walk." Claudette said giving one last hug to David before leaving. David spun on his heal before wandering in the forest.
David walked for a bit before stopping and sitting against a tree. 'What I would do for a beer right now.' He thought to himself. He looked at his palm. He grabbed a nearby rock and cut deep. Blood oozed out. He continued to watch as his flesh mended back together. 'Freaky' he said wiping the blood in the dirt.
He sat there for a while thinking about this situation. He dreaded being here. From what he knew he wasn't going to be going home anytime soon. That made David tear up. He hadn't been the best person but he was going to miss his family. They may hate him for being so reckless. They probably think he messed with the wrong person and am dead somewhere. 'Good now I'm not such a burden.' He thought as a tear fell down his face. He decided he has been gone long enough. He turned and walked back to camp ready to sleep after the day hes had.
