David feels like he has been here forever. Hes been through so many trials he began to lose count. The pain sucks but the entity patches him back up. He's made quite the reputation among the survivors of being reckless but protective. Most matches he with throw himself at the killer to save his friend. The killers themselves have seemed more aggressive knowing that David will be there to try to stop them from getting their kills. David's aggression has its downside. He also has a short temper now that hes comfortable and has gotten in a couple fights around the fire most of them ending in a couple punches and bruises but they are usually forgiven quickly.

As time went on David become more reckless starting to pick fights and use up supplies. Dwight knew of David's past as a fighter and "debt collector" in the streets so he felt pity for the brute. 'David is just being David.' Dwight told himself. But the more time went on he noticed David was acting off. Getting into more fights, purposely throwing himself in the killers way knowing he'll die on the hook.

Dwight sat at the fire with Claudette in silence. The others were about doing their own thing when David came and took a seat next to the shy leader giving a smile. Dwight smiled back and looked back into the fire. His mind was racing with questions he couldn't put into words.

"How have ya been Dwight haven't gotten a chance to talk to ya in a while." David asked giving Dwight a pat on the back. The leader thought about what to say.

"I've been alright David. Trials are getting harder lately." Dwight spoke in a shaky tone. He didnt remove his gaze from the fire not wanting to look at David. David noticed this and went quiet a second.

"I'm sorry mate maybe I can help when we are in a trial together next. I can get the killers attention real quick." David gave Dwight a wink as he said this.

"Yeah you sure do like to cause them trouble." Dwight said in a slight sad voice. He doesn't like seeing David constantly get hurt by his own careless actions.

David turned to Dwight. 'Did he just defend those fucks?' He asked himself. He could feel anger build in him. 'Why was Dwight acting so weird, I'm just trying to help'. He clenched his fist tightly.

"Ya have a problem with that?" David said in the kindest tone he could muster. Dwight flinched knowing he pissed David off.

"We'll no but I just don't understand why you have to throw yourself at killers and purposely get hurt." Dwight stuttered out trying to calm the situation down before David snapped. Too late.

"Are you fucking kidding me Dwight. Those fuckers are here killing us and you don't want me to fight for us. I'm the only one brave enough to throw a punch in this place and you are going to sit there and act like it's a bad thing. You are the weakest among us if anything you need to grow a pair." David spat with a hateful voice. Dwight shrunk into himself. Anxiety raised in his chest. He could feel the tears biting to be free from his eyes. David just glared at him waiting for him to say something. When nothing came to his lips David shot up and stormed off to his tent before he could say anything else.

"What the fuck was that all about, he needs to start thinking about others and how his actions effect us." Claudette stated glancing twords David's tent. Dwight wiped the tears from his eyes and looked at her. He had nothing to say. David had a point, Dwight was spineless as soon as a killer is near him he hides in a locker.

Dark mist circled around Dwight. 'Perfect time' he thought to himself. He looked over Feng and Meg were also selected for the trial. He couldn't see who their fourth team member was until he looked at David. His heart dropped. The brute stood staring at Dwight arms crossed as the mist devoured him. 'Fuck of course' Dwight looked down.

------------------------------------------------------------------

The trial had been going smooth it was The Huntress and her home. They had completed four of the generators and Dwight was only hooked once. Dwight hadn't seen David all trial. He began to feel bad about the whole fight prior. Dwight began work on a generator he could hear Feng scream as she was running from The Huntress. Dwight was about to leave but he knew that she could handle it. As he continued to work David came around the corner stopping in his tracks before sighing and walked up to Dwight. David started working on the gen.

"Hey I haven't seen you this whole time." Dwight managed to say as he connected wires together. David gave Dwight a sideways glance before continuing his repairs.

"Yeah I was to busy being a real man and saving people from the hatchet wielding cunt." David huffed. Dwight stopped for a second before continuing what he was doing trying to stay calm and not let his anxiety build. They continued in silence.

They finally managed to repair the gen and heard the familiar horn letting them know the exit gates could be opened. David ran off while Dwight made his way to an exit he saw when he first entered. He flipped the switch and looked around as he waited. Before he could even react a hatchet buried itself in Dwight's arm shredding his muscles. He let out a war piercing scream and let go of the switch. He turned and ran for the nearest structure to try and get away from the maniac.

Dwight made his way around successfully dodging another few hatchets. He turned his gaze to the exit gate it was fully open with David standing there staring at him. Suddenly pain rang out through his entire body. He fell to the ground. The Huntress successfully threw a hatchet into Dwight's calf muscle. She roared in laughter. She flipped Dwight around to see the fear and pain in his eyes. Dwight shut his eyes waiting for the inevitable She raised her axe above her head ready to smash down upon her victim. Dwight waited for the axe to enter his body. And waited. And waited. 'What the hell' Dwight thought as he opened his eyes.

Dwight looked up to his suprise David stood above him. The Huntress's axe planted directly into his skull. Dwight managed to stand up limping. David fell back with the axe still impaled in his head blood rushing out. His expression cold. Dwight felt a leap of anxiety and adrenaline fill him. He ran as fast as he could twords the exit. He could feel The Huntress running behind him catching up quick. Before she could make a fatal blow he entered the safety of the same fog that brought him here. The tall woman letting out a low growl as he limped away.

Dwight opened his eyes looking out into the dark woods he now called home. The pain slowly letting go as the entity patched his wounds. He was alone. He began walking after the pain in his leg subsided. 'He was so pissed at me why did he let himself die for me?' Dwight asked himself. His head was spinning he was so confused. 'David acted like he hated me but yet took an axe to his head when I was to weak to get away from her' he thought as tears formed in his eyes. 'Why am I so weak?' He asked as the warm glow of the fire came into view. He wiped his eyes once more and walked faster wanting to get back.

As Dwight entered the camp he looked around for David but he was nowhere in sight. He sighed in sad relief. His body ached  with phantom pain. He walked to his regular spot around the fire and plopped down. He stared deep into the fake flames feeling the warmth on his face and hands. He looked up looking once again for David. He noticed the scrapper standing at the edge of the forest looking at him. He had look on his face Dwight couldn't understand. He looked at Dwight for a few more seconds before turning and walking back into the dark woods.
