Chapter 30

"Hey, you should bring this suit." I said coming out of his closet holding a shiny black suit.

Jake looked up from his suitcase. "Why?"

I rolled my eyes and threw it on his bed. "Because..." I said trailing off as I headed back in his closet and looked through the numerous ties he has neatly hung side by side.

I found a navy blue tie and white dress shirt and walked out of the closet.

"...It'll look great with this." I said laying the tie and dress shirt down beside the suit.

Jake walked to me and looked at the combination I made. I saw him nod at the corner of my eye.

"Nice. Mommy dearest is influencing you a lot, huh?" He said teasing in his last sentence.

I rolled my eyes and elbowed him. "I love your mother and her fashion skills, okay?"

He laughed and grabbed the suit and place it in the bag with the rest of his clothes. He zipped up his suitcase and placed it beside the bedside table.

"Alright, I'm done. Wanna watch a movie?"

I plopped down on his bed in my big shirt and pajama shorts. "Sure. You pick the movie."

He nodded. "Okay." he said walking to his collection of DVDs. "Avatar sound good?"

I scrunched up my nose. "The one with the blue aliens? Nope. Do you have Catching Fire?"

He chuckled and turned around. "You tell me to pick and you end up picking the movie."

I smiled cheekily and shrugged making him chuckle more as he took the DVD and played it.

He walked back to me with the remote and placed it on the bedside table before going under the covers pulling me closer.

"Hey, where's Kaleb by the way?" I said as I noticed that the condo was too quiet.

"He said he'll be coming late. He has spare keys and knows where to sleep, he'll be fine."

"Wow, I can feel the love you have for him." I teased.

"He's a big boy, he can handle his self."

I chuckled and looked back at the screen as the movie started. I lay my head on Jake's chest and he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled the covers up more.

I think I listened to his heart beat more than I listened to the movie the whole time.

The next day I woke up with Jake gone. I looked at the time and saw that it was 9:30am.

His flight's at 8, so I guess he left more than an hour ago.

I saw a note beside my phone and grabbed it reading Jake's neat handwriting.

Good morning love,

Sorry I had to leave while you were asleep, didn't wanna wake you. I cooked some breakfast for you and just in case Kaleb wakes up before you and eats your breakfast I made him some too, of course yours is the better one. Anyways, I'll talk to you later.

See you on Monday. Love you.

I smiled and slid the note in my bag. I stood up and grabbed a hair tie and went to the bathroom. I did my business and freshened up and tied my hair in a lazy ponytail.

After that I went back to his bed and fixed it. I grabbed my phone and headed out the room, downstairs to the kitchen.

I saw two plates covered by another plate on the island. There were post-it notes on both of them. One said Kaleb and the other said Nina.
