Love is not blind; it simply enables one to see things others can't see. - Johnny Depp
TONY STARK, STEVE ROGERS, Thor Odinson, Clint Barton, Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanoff were in the plane, all still shaken up by what had happened back there. Seeing your worst memory, fear, desire or future was heavy. Even for them.
'The news is loving you guys,' Maria said through the radio. 'Nobody else is.'
Tony sighed. 'The Stark relief foundation?'
'Already on the scene. How's the team?' Maria asked.
Steve was leaning against one of the walls, surprisingly okay. Natasha sat in a chair, quietly, and had a terrified look in her eyes. Bruce had a blanket wrapped around him, hoping it would bring him shelter from the world. It was Steve he worried most about. The guy should've been broken, given what the girl could've shown him. Instead he was his usual self. Tony was dying to know what he saw.
'Everyone's...' Tony began, but didn't know how to finish that sentence. 'We took a hit. We'll shake it off.'
'Well, for now, I'd stay in stealth mode and stay away from here,' Maria advised the Avengers.
Tony frowned. 'So, run and hide?'
'Until we can find find Ultron,' Maria answered, 'I don't have a lot else to offer.'
'Neither do we,' Tony sighed. He hung up the call as he walked towards Clint. 'Hey, you wanna switch out?'
Clint shook his head. 'No, I'm good. If you wanna get some kip, now's a good time because we're still a few hours out.'
'Few hours from where?' Tony asked confused.
'A safe house.'
