I still walk to school. But my mum bought me an alarm. If I feel unsafe or I feel that someone is following me, I pull a string out of this little box and it emits this horrible, high pitched sound that alerts everybody.
Marching confidently down the street, I turned the corner into Keri’s avenue. Eddie plodded slowly behind me, meowing occasionally lo let me know he was still there. I turned back and smiled at him, leaning down to give him a big kiss on his soft forehead. He purred noisily and rubbed himself up my legs.
Suddenly, I felt a cold drop of water on my head. I looked up, and that was like the clouds signal. It poured down. Literally threw it out of the sky. I whisked Eddie up off of the ground and sheltered him with my coat. But I didn’t care. I’ve learnt to appreciate the smaller things in life. Like the rain.
